Edit-Responding to business response: The man behind the counter did not cut us any deals or do something special for my granddaughter. When I asked about the prices of the buckets he went to the back with me and showed me two buckets at $20 and one at $10 so NO he wasn’t doing anything special for her. She only wanted to do it because my grandson was doing it. Maybe you should know what the man behind the counter is doing. This was our experience at your business and you keep implying that we are lying.

I don’t like businesses that lie. This business lied on their response to my grandson’s review and said they don’t sell $10 buckets. My grandson has his own Google account so if warranted he will leave a review in a young persons personal opinion. So my 11 year old grandson Jackson reviewed this business as soon as we left it. He said he was trying to be kind in his review even though he was disappointed in the amount of rocks that were in his $20 bucket. There was very little. This is not the first time he’s done gem mining. My son in law purchased a $10 bucket for my granddaughter which had way more rocks than the $20. By the way we had to wait for the sifting water to flow every minute. The purpose of my review is that the business decides to respond to my grandson saying they don’t sell $10 buckets. Well the man in the business did sell a $10 bucket. I provided a photo of the $10 transaction. I paid cash and my son in law paid by credit card. Again my grandson was trying to be kind with his review of the rock mine. Go at your own risk of possibly not getting very money rocks in a bucket for your money. After we left my grandson asked if we can go to the PIGEON FORGE GEM MINE we have been to several times. Way more rocks and much better experience. The sifting water flows constantly at the PIGEON...

I would rate this two stars but the guy who was working the counter had his pet rabbit up there trying to eat the rocks, so I added one star to my review because the rabbit was very fluffy and cute. I was left a bit disappointed with the rest of the experience but I liked the rabbit. I payed 30 dollars for crystals only to discover they were only valued at around 6-12 dollars by my main seller. The guy running the shop seemed nice and knowledgeable but he seemed to avoid answering my question when I asked about the authenticity of the crystals and if they were glass or rock (they also sell glass so I believe this was a valid question) and he danced around the question with answers like "yes and no" and "crystals are just the shape". He proceeded to ask me why I don't just look in my backyard for crystals instead of buying them and when I talked about buying from my wholesale supplier he tried to convince me not to buy from them and told me I need a business license for wholesale, I'm not sure if we were thinking about different types of wholesale but I most definitely never needed a business license for it before. The whole experience was a bit disappointing but the rabbit was...

I decided upon Little River Gem Mine before we even left for our vacation to Gatlinburg. I am an avid lover and collector of gemstones. Based on previous reviews the friendliness and knowledge of stones seemed apparent. There are many gem mines in the area. Most are much larger, but the bigger the place they are there to make a buck. Not to give you a good experience. You can tell that the owner loves what he does and was excited to converse and he lit up when discussing different stones. We chose a $20 bucket and a $35 bucket. I was skeptical about the gemstone "mining" the $20 bucket was decent for the money. But the $35 bucket was a steal. Every stone was a decent size and many much larger than i had anticipated. The selection was also quite large. So many different stones and even a few i didn't recognize and I know my stones. We live about 8 hours away but we will be back again. Next time I am definitely doing the $100 bucket. My daughter bought a necklace and the owner charged her zero tax and he gave my son a free obsidian. My teenagers both enjoyed themselves. We were all impressed by the level of customer service. Thank you and we will...

Our family decided to check out this rock shop and gem mine this weekend. The owners were super friendly and so knowledgeable! Our girls got the $20 and $35 bucket and each got so many goodies. Polished gems, rough gems and rocks, and shark teeth. My youngest daughter has been a collector of natural gems and stones for awhile and what she got in her $35 bucket was more than worth what we paid. They also helped identify anything in their bucket they were unsure of. They were also super sweet and threw in a couple bonuses when they saw the girls were excited about their finds. We bought pretty cool fossil too! They had a ton of cool pieces and were happy to share their experience and suggestions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for more of a mom and pop experience away from all the tourism. We will be back to visit when we come back out this way!

Literally tons of crystals, gems and stones on display. The best part was the gentleman behind the counter, Walter. We've all come across people that we walk away from and say, there is something about this person....that was Walter for the 3 of us. An elder with loads of compassion and desire to make you smile. My kid was so happy to hear his stories about geology and descriptions of any rock she picked up, we had to go back 24 hrs later. If you get the opportunity and inclination, take your kids her to mine a bucket of crystals in the running water, they are more than worth the low cost for what you get. Be sure to talk to Walter, he'll brighten your day for sure.
