If you are looking for a unique Smoky Mountain experience, you’ve found it. SAFETY: well kept and professional outfit from what we could tell. CREW: Young, but both the ground crew and the pilot knew what they were doing. We felt comfortable and safe the entire time. PILOT: Our pilot was Taylor. He’s a bit new to the Smokies (we could have given him the tour), but he provided a smooth and fantastic ride. Got nerves? No worries, on a nice day our ride was smooth as silk…and fun. THE RIDE: We bought the National Park ride, which lasted about 20 minutes. While the map shows you going east of Pigeon Forge and south of Gatlinburg, our ride went down the parkway and just north of PF…then out to Wears Valley and back to the heliport. It was shorter than billed, but was still worth every penny. THE VIEWS: Spectacular. All the things we’ve seen at ground level over the years were really fun to identify during our flight. The Island. Dollywood in the distance. Starr Crest resort to the east. Le Conte. The Sky Bridge. The Parkway in Wears Valley. Our resort (flew right over it!). It was a once-in-a-life time EXPERIENCE that we won’t forget. TIPS: Wear dark clothes. Light colored clothes reflect off the windows and ruin pics. Take your camera or cell phone. Don’t take so many pics you miss the experience (a lot of people do that). Go on a clear day. Clouds and haze would make it less spectacular. Don’t just look down….look out at the mountains…they are incredible!!! OVERALL: Even though the route was shorter than billed, this outfit is safe and the ride was great. At no time do we feel at risk or in danger (in case you are nervous about flying). If you are looking to make a memory, this is a great option if you have the cash. But experiences are worth...
