I can't say enough good things about this place and about Bryan! We did both our ceremony and reception at Turtle's 1890 Social Centre, and not only was the pricing the most reasonable of any venue we looked at, but they also included the most. No nickel and dime-ing you to death, their pricing is straightforward and included everything we needed. Tables, chairs, linens, dishware, all of it. And the food was awesome!! We did street tacos, and they were superb! All of our guests with special dietary needs were accommodated, and all the guests had great things to say about the food and the staff! The staff was friendly, professional, and helped make sure everything went smoothly. Bryan also went out of his way to get me my favorite beer for the reception (peanut butter porter) and I really appreciate that! The place is also gorgeous. Brick walls, tin ceilings, black and white tile floors, and a beautiful bar are the perfect backdrop for any event. Vintage and elegant, it was everything I could...
Read moreAfter the loss of my mother, we reached out to several venues across the Twin Cities, but as soon as we spoke with Bryan, the , we knew we didn’t need to look any further. Bryan was incredibly personable, responsive, and supportive—exactly what we needed during such a difficult time. His immediate and direct response took a huge weight off our shoulders.
The event itself was seamless. The staff were outstanding—our guests couldn’t stop raving about how attentive and professional they were. We opted for the pasta bar, and as regulars at Turtle’s, we knew the food would be fantastic, but it still managed to exceed expectations. Having such a warm, local venue backed by Bryan and his amazing team made all the difference.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would....
Read moreI hate to leave a bad review because I really like Turtles restaurant. We had an event for families in the social center. It honestly felt like this was the first time they have tried to serve pizza for a large group, it was so poorly managed. Very long wait times for food due to the poor layout of the buffet. The line was backed up across the room, blocking the drink station. Since half the group were kids (which they knew) they would have done better by prepping several basic pizzas and then drop 1 or 2 at each table. Or maybe have two lines for pizza and a separate station for salad. Trying to be helpful because again I really like Turtles but this was really bad. Pizza was tasty as...
