I'll start by saying I understand everyone is a volunteer at this facility they don't not have paid employees so I am not upset with any of the workers... Stuff happens, it's not their fault. I don't want my money back or any compensation.
But the haunted trolley ride was a NIGHTMARE and not the one you are expecting to have after a haunted event. It broke down for 30 min, no big deal it was fun to sit there and hang out and watch them fix it.
They fixed the issue 30 min later, okay awesome!
They go forward like another 200 yards, stop and turn around... Literally nothing scary at all happened.. no one came on the train and scared us, no one did anything at all that was even remotely scary. No jump scare, no loud noises, no strobes. No spooky music. Nothing. Some fog and green lights.
There was literally an infant on the train that wasn't even scared .. the event says kids aren't recommend but I don't see why not because it's like the least scary event I've ever been to in my entire life.. walk down the road a little bit off of Bush Blvd at nighttime it would be way more scary.
Waste of time and money, yes. But the money goes to a good cause so I am happy to pay.
But I believe we got robbed of our experience and it was cut short 0/10 scare factor ... 1/10 fun factor .. 10/10 volunteers doing their best... 1/10 overall.
You would have to pay me to do this specific event again... Even if everything went smoothly with the trolley mechanics.
Literally NOTHING scary happened, a few actors on the ground in the beginning banging on the side of it 5' below you l.
Btw sit on the left side if you do go you won't see a single thing on the right side .. EVERYTHING and I mean everything is on the left side of the train.
Again this is not a knock on the volunteers because they were wonderful, it's a knock on the experience of a "haunted trolley".
I will gladly come back for different events,...
Read moreSmall but alot of fun! Hidden gem for sure. My son loves trains so thought this would be a great low cost day activity. Went a little before close time but still had a blast. Small, interior museum and gift shop. The real attraction is outside. Slide open the station doors and go right onto the tracks! There's a variety of train cars you can walk through and tour and each car had a volunteer ready to tell its story. The post office car even had a small train set for young kids to play with, which we went back to after our self guided tour to relax until closing. Another car has a snack stand where you can buy drinks, snacks, candy, and even souvenir cups. When we went, the trolley car wasn't running (a ride on the trolley usually comes free with entry ticket purchase) so we got a free ride on the little yellow track service car(usually only 3$ extra). Where it was open, we couldn't go over the bridge, but got to see all the original buildings and hear the interesting facts about their use. They have plans to restore the buildings in the coming yrs and extend the tours. Staff was super friendly and informative. Will definitely be returning to ride the trolley and after restorations. Ended up not being a cheap trip just cuz my kids wanted snacks and souvenirs lol highly recommend if you're looking for a low cost fun family activity...
Read moreI try to save my five stars for places like this. All the volunteers were more than helpful, polite, informative. The decorations throughout our lovely. There's Christmas carols playing, coloring pages, ornaments to make, and Mrs. Clause with whom to get pictures. There's about five train cars and a caboose that you can walk through and they're all a little different oh, so that was enjoyable. They have free American flags and they have a Snack Shack that has chips and drink and hot chocolate. And they even have little tables set up with umbrellas so you don't get wet if it's raining. The train ride was good; the onboard staff funny, helpful, resourceful. The only complaint would be that the conductor giving the verbal history and information walked back and forth, so we all only heard what she said as she was facing us. Train car is small enough that she could stand in one area and be heard by most anyone. Overall a lovely place and we will be back. Also a valid place for donation monies, especially in...
