My advice to anyone who is looking to business with CLS is to look elsewhere. My wife and I were looking for furniture for a spare bedroom. After looking around CLS appeared to be in the price range for what we were looking for. As such we stopped in to see them. After meeting with a sales associate we were given several “Ashley Furniture” options. We elected to look around. The next weekend we stopped in and ordered the furniture and told it would be in within two weeks. Here is where the trouble started. Two weeks went by and nothing. I started calling and left messages – nothing, no response from anyone. After a few day of this I was finally able to get a hold of the sales associate. I was then told after having to remind him of who I was, what I ordered and when “Oh yeah…your stuff is in. When can we deliver it?” The delivery truck showed and the dresser we ordered was cracked up the side, and the headboard was “back ordered indefinitely”. We did get the mattress and night stand. What followed then was three more weeks of phone calls, no information and excuses. After getting upset for the fifth time on the phone I was then told “we will upgrade you entire order at no cost and replace it”. Two more weeks go by and again after several calls I am told that "the furniture is in and will be delivered”. When the delivery truck showed the furniture was again damaged (dresser had chunks out of it and was cracked, the headboard has spots in the stain and is off extremely poor quality did not fit the mattress frame. During the delivery process my wife found the movers going through my tool box in the garage because they did not bring any tools with them to install the headboard. She witnessed then cussing and throwing things around in the truck.
After this happened I attempted to contact CLS and the CEO about the issue. When I called the first time I was promptly hung up on after he answered the phone by stating CLS. I asked who this is please, he stated CLS, I asked again who am I speaking to and got a dial tone. I called back and then proceeded to get berated for the previous phone call. I was then offered the chance to send him photos of the damaged furniture. His statement at that time was “how do you know if there is a problem, you have not even seen the furniture”. I had to remind him that my wife had just taken delivery of it and that it was found after the delivery crew had left (the conveniently placed the damaged areas against the wall). I said I would email him pictures and call him later that day and make sure he received the photos. I did and he confirmed he had them. The CEO agreed to “talk to his people” and see what he could do and asked me to call him again the next day. When I asked him if this is how he treated all his customers I was told “You’re obviously upset, why don’t you call back tomorrow”.
I called the next day and here is what I was told “I have a piece of paper that shows you took delivery of the furniture”. When I stated that yes that was correct he then stated “what do you want me to do”. I again asked what he was going to do about the damaged furniture, was he going to replace it, get me something else, what? He again said he needed to check with his “people”. That was over a week ago and I have received no additional contact or information.
At this point my wife and I have conceded to the fact that we made the mistake of going with these guys. My hope in writing this is to prevent anyone else who may be considering using them to look elsewhere. They are not registered with the better business bureau; most of the reviews you will read here are as bad or worse. If you do order the furniture realize it is not Ashley Furniture (call them and they will act astonished and have no idea what you are talking about) and that you are going to receive no customer service, be treated poorly and the final product you get will be cheap imitation furniture off the boat from...
Read moreDo NOT go to CLS Direct! Their prices are great, but their service is the worst I have encountered at any business ever. I would not be surprised if they go out of business in the near future- no business can survive running as poorly as this one. If you do not believe me, check out the Better Business Bureau website for them- they have had 24 complaints filed within the past 3 years. I wish I would have seen that before I ordered my cabinets from them- I never would have even walked in their door.
The only thing they had going for them was their customer service representative and cabinet specialist, Marty. She was great, but she left a couple months ago, which is not surprising- nobody who is serious about their job would want to work at this scammy business. After ordering the cabinets there will multiple pieces missing- crown molding, hardware etc. I had to email or call CLS at least weekly to get them to do anything. Most of the time they ignored my calls and emails, but finally my husband and I just went in to see if they finally had our missing stuff. Sergio promised he would order everything (although we were told it was ordered weeks earlier) and then he never followed through or even contacted us with an explanation. After months of back and forth with this company we decided to just go to Home Depot and purchase the missing pieces by ourselves. It just wasn't worth the hassle anymore.
For the love of God, save yourself the trouble and do not go to this company for anything! I have never written a bad review for anything. I am a very easy-to-get-along with customer but I felt the need to warn other people about this company. I am not sure if they are trying to scam people or if they are just completely unorganized, understaffed, and terrible at what they do. Either way- go...
Read moreMy husband and I went here in May and we purchased a sofa and recliner.. Got a great deal, free shipping. Well after the furniture was delivered..... I noticed scratches on the top backside of the recliner (easily unnoticed), also there is a board that has a chunk out of it.. and the bottom of the recliner was apparently scraped coming in the door. Anyways I called them to see about getting a replacement, since we do have a years warranty on the furniture....sergio the man who sold it .. said he would order a replacement and it would take 2 weeks.. so 2 weeks go by I call them back. I ended up speaking with the owner...he gave me a song and dance about at one point the furniture becomes mine and not theirs anymore. and I reminded him of the year warranty..He also made the big deal we signed for the furniture stating it was in good shape. Well these damages were easily missed .unless u inspect every inch before it comes in the door and most people do not do that.... then he proceeded to tell me it was on back order.. and to call again in 2 weeks.. so now i was loosing my cool so I let my husband handle it. They told my husband that the manufacture (ashley) were having network problems and it would be another couple weeks.... they also during all these times said they would return our calls, and NEVER did. So my husband called Ashley and asked them if they were having network problems and they said no, and my husband has explained what is going on.. and now they are suppose to be investigating it. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! They may have reasonable prices.. but they do not HONOR what they say, warranty or not...they avoid you at all costs...etc.......... STAY...
