I have played this course a few times now to give a fair review. My first few times were some of my most favorite rounds of golf I’ve played - had the course to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon, and staff was nice to us, and overall had a great time. This recent time I’ve played really forced me to write this review as it was an okay round, but left a lot to be desired. First off, I scheduled a 5:30 tee time (which is the latest they offered), and checked in at 5. The starter came up to me as I was getting my cart, and was pressuring me to start as early as 5:05. I was waiting for another member of my party to show up, so that wasn’t going to work. We did start early at the request of the starter, which I was cool with. Was followed the first couple of holes and was told on my first drive that I could only hit one, and if I didn’t like my shot, to drop with my partner. We sort of had to tell him off, as the only reason I drove bad on the first hole, is because I had a Marshall and a starter in their carts staring me down and talking on the first hole. There were a few other interactions with staff that really left a lot to be desired. As a young adult golfer, who just got into the game this past year, I understand why you might move us along, but as the last group, I just felt rushed the whole time, and felt like the staff just wanted to go home. Really made for a bad game of golf. Ended up playing 9 before 6:30. Overall though, place is in really good shape, and it’s a fun challenging course, so I will be back, however seeing some others comments about rude staff, I felt I had to comment...
Read moreCannot corroborate what some have said about their experience with the marshals as that can oftentimes be the "gripe" about many courses. My son and I went there this morning and were greeted in a friendly and professional manner by Joe and a Ms. Huffman (sorry, had to look at my receipt). I had called Joe the previous day and told him I hadn't played for quite some time and was concerned about holding people up and was wondering what the chances were of us being able to play without someone else being paired with us and he said he was pretty confident they could make that happen. We passed by several marshals throughout the round and they were engaging and hospitable. There were several times we could see they were doing everything they could to take care of the course and it was in very good shape considering the lack of precipitation the area has had this summer. Nice place with some really unique holes built into the scenic hills. It was a very good experience and we've already talked about when we...
Read moreWe have been playing this course for years. Since the coronavirus hit, the course rules have been inconsistent and confusing. Recently started requiring two people to a cart, which is understandable, but not consistent with other pandemic related rules. Won’t give walkers a ride up the two steep hills after providing this service for many years, probably decades. No drinking water on the course or rakes in the bunkers, which is consistent with most other courses. However they stopped putting rings in the cup, so now everyone has to reach in and touch the cup. Our group has played 10-25 different courses and this is the only course we have played that has removed the ring in the cup. Early in the pandemic, they refused to give out scorecards because they were open for “exercise.” Yet they let people ride in a cart, which is limiting exercise, except days that are...
