I’m not sure why our experience was so different than the majority of the reviews on here. But unfortunately, I have to give Yos donuts a one star review. Our family and friends were doing a staycation in the Kansas City area at great Wolf Lodge and had the desire for some non-chain donuts. We looked on Google and saw Yos with a 4.6 star rating and 140+ reviews and thought we had found a great place. We showed up around 10 o’clock with my wife and our three children and our friends and their two children. The young man who served us had absolutely zero desire to do so. Not a single greeting or welcome, basically, the absolute bare minimum interaction necessary to get a customer donuts. He obviously did not want to serve us. Once we were done ordering he pulled his phone out and put his earbuds in and never interacted with us again. He did get up to serve new customers as they arrived, but then went back to his digital world after they left. The donuts themselves were nothing to brag about. They were no better than any Dunkin donut. They weren’t terrible but they were nothing special. I read one of the reviews that raved about their breakfast burritos. Unfortunately mine had eggshell in it. I realize that that happens, but it happened to me and I have to put it in the review. It puzzles me that this place has such a great rating. My friend and I joked that the guy behind the counter was probably too busy creating fake accounts to boost his ratings on google. Not sure if that’s the case or not. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone. You’ll get better service and just as good donuts and coffee from any chain donut place. I just feel like I need to share our experience for anyone that might get roped in by what seems to be a...
Read moreWhat is going on.... I wanted to bring donuts for a few special coworkers for working during the holiday. Unfortunately, our beloved donut shop is closed for the summer. My husband performed a quick Google search for donuts and after noticing the positive reviews, he went this morning to pick up a few. Took the donuts into work (they were nicely packaged in a box). Presented them to my coworkers and went off to do some work. Roughly two hours later, one of my co-workers approached me and stated she had a stomach ache from biting into a donut (she did not eat the rest). I apologized and brushed it off thinking maybe she was experiencing other stomach issues. Less than a few minutes later the other two co-workers (from different areas came over to me and told me that the donuts tasted disgusting. She explained they tasted like stale greasy sausages and smelled like cigarettes. Very embarrassed, I apologized to all of my co-workers and went over to the last donut that was left in the box. I was getting ready to throw it out when I caught a whiff of the donut and it smelled exactly like stale meat and cigarettes. Shocked is not even a word to describe this experience. I am trying to figure out why my experience is so different from all these other positive reviews. This is not just a review from one person.... this is a review from numerous people who tried these donuts this morning. Absolutely will not visit this...
Read moreApparently my experience was an outlier, but I did not experience a 4.6 star donut shop. I was in the area and wanted something other than Dunkin. I looked at the reviews and off I went.
When I walked in I was greeted by a young man who seemed inconvenienced by my presence. Since there was no signage indicating what kinds of donuts I was looking at, I asked a few questions. I eventually gave up on learning more and just began pointing and saying "one of those, two of those." I ended up with 12 donuts for less than $10.
And I could overlook the subpar service if the donuts were great, but my donuts were not fresh. The donuts were dense and a tad hard...clearly AT LEAST a day old.
It looks like I'm on the wrong side of history here because other folks love it. My experience appears to be an anomaly, but you should at least know the risk when...
