For a brand new Building there sure are a lot of issues. Management has been fine and helpful and not so much an issue for me, but in less than 1 1/2 months of living in This brand new building, we have already encountered the following: Internet/cable is a big problem. Supposedly there is Fiber in this building, Xfinity comes and installs the modem/router in the bedroom closet and then you have to pay extra to either stream your cable or pay to have the outlet in the living room activated so you don’t have to run a cable from your bedroom to the living room. The internet speed is unimpressive and sporadic. I then found out from the technician that we don’t have “true” fiber in this building. We spent nearly a month, multiple phone calls, technicians coming out to troubleshoot our internet with no resolve. This place was rushed and done on the cheap. Many wood floor Laminate tiles are popping up in places, you can see water damage in the wood Board ceiling, a footprint on the ceiling and nails exposed in the ceiling boards. Our hot water worked sporadically on a off the first two weeks we moved in with no explanation. The water pressure could be better. We have had TWO flat tires from running over nails in the garage from construction workers (who I was told shouldn’t be doing work In The garage). You can walk through right now and still see nails and metal construction pieces all over the garage. There have been TWO car prowler incidents in the secured garage in the last month, which costs $75/$125 to park in. I expect more in a secured garage than two break-ins in a month (and the garage is half occupied) There has been a wall in the stair well that has been opened up because of water coming through. Our oven drawer can’t be used because it was installed bent, so we don’t use it in fear of breaking it and getting charged. If you have dogs, this isn’t the most convenient set-up. There is NO where on the property to let the dogs pee. You have to take them at least a block away if you don’t want them to pee on the dried up grass in a parking lot nearby that is filled with garbage. Upstairs neighbors are loud as hell. If you have neighbors above you that walk loudly and stomp on floor, you will easily hear it all. There is ONE patch of grass in the complex which is so soggy and mushy from water you can’t even walk on it without boots. It’s basically to look at and not touch at this point. The door to the deck is janky and not installed right. The windows don’t latch properly.
With all that being said, the location is great, but fairly loud as it’s on the corner of two busy roads. At night you can hear cars driving at mock speed down the road. For the cost of the rent, The Parking and the fact that you pay all utilities this place is moving towards not being worth it with all...
Read moreAfter moving out after 31 months, we were assessed a fee of $250.00 for painting the walls. I spoke with a representative at the front office pointing out that I felt that after 31 months, painting was required as a function of normal wear and tear. She sent me a text message saying that yes, they would waive the painting fee. I spoke with “Jake” and he stated that they would honor the painting fee waiver, even though they consider the paint lasts 5 years. After I received a call from the billing department saying that they have not received any emails from Jake acknowledging the waiver, I called him and he stated he would send the email. He did not. After several day later, I received another call from billing stating that Jake still had not sent anything. The person in billing was very understanding of my situation and tried to give us the time to get Jake to send the email. She contacted his office several times requesting the email and still received nothing. After a couple weeks went by, we had to pay the fee so our credit rating would not suffer damage. I can only think Jake figured that we would have to pay the bill or spend more on a lawyer. I truly believe that Jake engaged in willful incompetence in not following through with repeated requests for confirmation of the waiver. As for the building itself, they say it is a secure building. The doors are left propped open often when people move in or out. The garage doors were frequently damaged and left in the up and open position. Elevators are in service mode most weekends resulting in long delays waiting for the other elevator. Property is dirty with one period of at least 7weeks between cleaning. Constant loud popping noise in the walls is very disturbing. Cabinets separated from the wall. Huge rent increases. Poorly described increases in services such as parking. Multiple charges that should be included in the rent such as a fee for electricity in addition to having to sign up for electric service to...
Read moreJake has managed to do not a single thing I have asked from him in the two and a half months we lived here. "I'll have an answer for you by Monday" has been now 4 Monday's ago. He sees me in the office and won't say a word to me. This is in regards to Jake (who he claimed to me is the superior over the assistant manger, Gina, so I thought finally our problems can be in good hands, but no) and the rest of his office team NOT ONLY belittling my mental illness, but also TRIGGERING my mental illness, and asking me for updated proof of an ESA and otherwise charging us for per rent. I was sent a 19 page document for my reference. I read through all of it and did not find anything that says an ESA letter needs to be renewed.
I asked the office and Jake specifically at his desk if they would ever ask someone with a visible disability for an updated ESA letter, as well as I asked them if they want my attorney to review their documents and I never heard back. Surprise surprise.
I have sat down with Jake in his office and watched while he fumbled around his computer and couldn't "locate an email" in regards to my ESA issue that he had "just" received. You could've easily searched for your recipient in the search box, Jake. If this is your job you should know how to use Outlook. I have watched him pretend to fix the coffee machine while actually having no idea what he's doing. He's incompetent, he has blatantly ignored me, been extremely rude and condescending and should absolutely have no place in a managerial role if that's even true.
This is very unfortunate as the Postmark was the first place I fell in love with when we were moving. We were FORTUNATE enough to only work with Kim until move in and she is and always has been a pleasure. But if it had not been Kim that toured us around the first day we would've seen how awful the rest of the staff is and been able to make our first home together somewhere else, where we're respected and valued as customers...
