Beautiful place, even on a very blustery and cold day it was still very serene. Although built for the Catholic faith, it is still welcoming to non-Catholic Christians alike. There was snow on the ground when I went. But it was still a wonderful place to be. No pictures of either statue (Mother Mary who is 30ft. Tall, or Jesus who is 35ft. Tall) do justice to their enormity. If you are in the area and have the opportunity to come, you definitely should! The hand-carved, solid wood depiction of The Last Supper is one of only 4 in the world. It is located inside the building to the right of the Chapel. Definitely take time to go in and view it in all of it's glory! There is also a beautiful depiction of the stations of the cross leading up to the statue of Jesus. Well worth the time to read each one and view the metalwork that illustrates each one. There is also a great gift shop, which helps support the site. Both Catholic and Non-Catholic gifts...
Read moreThis has got to be one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I've ever been to in my Life. I will definitely go again if I live there I would probably go everyday. While I was visiting for the week I went three different times. If I could, I would have a little cottage there that I lived in and live right on the property! The property is kept impeccable, it's gorgeous and it just has a peaceful, spiritual feeling. The whole place outside is gorgeous and inside is the hand carving in wood of the last supper with Jesus Christ! It took him 12 years to carve this and I mean down to the toenails, it was amazing, just amazing! I've never seen anything like it. If you get a chance to get up that way in Iowa, definitely go to Trinity Heights, you...
Read moreWow! This is a wonderful place for a Catholic family to stop, or to go for a date. We just used it as a rest stop while driving on I-29 with our family. We were only there for 45 minutes. In order to soak it all in, I'd want to spend at least 3 hours here and have a picnic. It was so beautiful and educational, with lots of space for kids to run around, and plenty of seating for older people who need to rest a bit. We got there right before the main building closed for the day, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They pray a rosary there every day. I think they have adoration available for...
