Admittedly it’s new and the interior still holds the look of the Taco Bell that was once in this location however I once you look past that you’re treated to a wonderful arrange of sushi, a menu with a variety of wonderful and creative rolls. Is sushi not your vibe, try some ramen as you’ll find plenty of options for ramen and I’m sure you’ll find something nice to fit your fancy! The staff are wonderful. The endearing greeting you’ll receive your first time isn’t the last as the woman behind the counter has such a wonderful aura about her. I came here for the first time with my partner and when we arrived the second time we brought friends and were recognized immediately, this is definitely a passionate Asian owned establishment worth supporting and ultimately treating your tastebuds and stomach to the delicious food!

I wish Koi the best and I can’t wait to see it grow as it hopefully becomes everyone’s favorite spot for sushi just like it’s quickly become one of mine!

Summary:

This restaurant has wonderful sushi, and if you allow yourself to look past it’s Taco-Bell-Like interior you’ll be treated to wonderful staff...

To this day the best ramen I've tasted was in two places, Japan and LA. However the ramen here at koi sushi Sioux city is almost just as flavorful and despite their small selection of ramen, the few bowls available are almost perfected. The sushi at koi sushi however still falls incredibly shorts of the mark, the rice is acceptable, the ingredients are acceptable, but that's just it, it only barely reaches the mark, fortunately it is some of the best sushi in the Siouxland area, you won't get much Umami but you'll be quite satisfied. The rest of the basic selection of food here is quite good. Back to the ramen I would say I recommend this ramen to anyone living within the 200-300 mile radius as much of the ramen I've had in Sioux falls and Omaha taste like complete sewer water. If you're in the mood for sushi then there's plenty of competition in the area for that but if you want a smack bowl of ramen in Siouxland then there's no place I'd recommend besides koi sushi. Bentos are...

Clean place, quiet. Counter service. Shy cashier but polite. Raman was a little better than average, about a 3.5. Price was fair, as was quantity. The quality of the ingredients seemed good. The pork tonkatsu, however , was tough or chewy. Broth and noodles were good. I also ordered ine roll. Good price but average quality and taste, 3 stars. Maybe as I sat, waiting a long time for my raman, you could have served my California rolls? Next time I'll ask. If I needed to eat over my lunch break, I might stop here. But I would not if i was taking a friend out for dinner...

Appears to be a newly opened restaurant. Is a mostly takeout style, but does have seating for dine in. The staff was friendly. The rolls are big, I had gotten the three roll lunch combo by the end wished I had gotten the two roll. The green tea was refreshing. Pictures rolls are Spicy tuna, Alaskan, spicy crab, comes with side of miso or a salad, I picked the miso soup.

This was an epic place to eat...... Until I ate my last piece of yellowfin tuna sashimi. Everything was great until I went for that last piece. It had turned and I about puked up my entire meal. I just didn't have the heart to say anything at the time.
