KAAPOW! Her I am folks, Slidell Louisiana, bored and growing impatient as I skim the net and apps looking for bike trails to ride in slidell. John slidell park popped up on my search and said to myself let's do this! 1.5 mile cycle ride to the park, upon entering, I cleared my mind, started my bluetooth music and went on my way. I seen several softball fields to my right and wood lines to the left. In the back of the park is where I met the "walk, jog, cycle path. It is paved the entire way. Clean and serene filled with greenery the entire route. About halfway through it opens up to a pond with a water spout in the middle, this area is located in the back of a newer clean housing track. Continuing on the trail crosses a small bridge with very little water flowing. The trail ends behind the gas station on gause. I turned around to head back and stopped to talk to a few people and introduce myself, had a quick chat and on my way. Passed a lady pushing a stroller and seen a few rabbits on my way back. There are two or three play areas for children, picnic pavilions and volleyball area. My overall rating is at 5 stars due to the cleanliness, green scenery, small wildlife and humble people. The park seems safe for families and plenty of room for birthday parties and more. If I could change anything about this park it would be longer path route, other than that, "5 goats for small size awesomeness...

Read moreI took my the kids here for years and now I am taking thier kids.
The park is overall ok. While we were there someone brought thier dogs there and let them take a dump in the playground area and did not clean it up. It could use a little TLC by the city. A little raking and paint and it would be fine. This is why I gave it 3 stars.
The park playground has been renovated twice since I have lived here, over 35 years, and it has ball fields, playground, picnic areas, a walking/jogging/bike path and a gym. The play ground sits next to Robert Blvd. and is a few hundred...
