When someone came to my house recently and asked, "Now that the kitchen is done, is there anything you would have changed?" I could honestly say no. Why? Because Susan thought of everything ahead of time. She took our multi-page wish list, distilled it to its essence, asked the right questions, and created something that is at once beautiful AND functional and unique to us. Our young adult children returned home to the renovated kitchen, took one look and said, "This couldn't be anyone else's kitchen but yours Mom." Susan understands what it means to LIVE in a house, to use it - not just look at it or hand it off to someone to function within it. No, she gets it. "A place for everything, everything in its place."

Was it more than we thought we would spend before we started? No question. (But it's inevitable to have a little sticker shock when faced with real life labor and material costs after creating a price in our own minds based on nothing but fantasy.) But Susan and her team were organized, upfront and very clear with communication, sign-offs and schedules. And so while it was expensive, it was also not a surprise. There were NO surprises on this job. AND, it is true - you get what you pay for. So - while maybe I could have gotten it done cheaper, they more than earned their fees by being reliable, professional, on-time, clean, safe, and easy to work with. Peace of mind is truly priceless.

Savvy Giving by Design created a personalized princess bedroom space for my daughter Venice who is battling cancer and currently recovering from a serious infection.
