HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!! ZERO STARS! As an 8 year thriving cancer survivor, I only go where I feel confident that the providers and staff see me as a person and treat me with dignity and care. I chose the Somerspoint office because Dr Peggy and her team provide that type of care. As such, I always specifically asked to be scheduled only when she is in the office. I come from quite a distance (more than an hour drive)
I showed up at my scheduled appointment at 7am for my 7:30am appointment. At check in the young lady asked for the script provided by my surgeon. The script is for a bilateral Breast MRI. When the young lady asked which "WRIST" was to be examined. I phonetically spelled BREAST and explained that it was a bilateral BREAST MRI. The confused look on her face told me right away that the appointment was scheduled for the wrist and not the breast. A second front desk clerk stepped in to assist and immediately began making calls to see if a referral or authorization would be needed from the insurance company. I was then told then they the would see if they could "fit" me in since I was not scheduled for an MRI today as if i was a "walk in" who did not schedule this appoint more than 2weeks ago. When I originally made the appointment, I specificall requested the appointment be scheduled on the same day that Dr. Peggy was physically on site. When I asked, I was told that Dr. Peggy was not in the office on the day of my appointment.
At that time, I was told that once they were able to fit me in they could hold my results until Tuesday 5/28/2024 when Dr Peggy returned to the office. I was livid !!!
I JUST HAD TO TURN AND WALK RIGHT OUT THE FRONT DOOR.
It is ablsolutely UNACCEPTABLE for a patient to be called not one but 2 more times after scheduling the appointment to confirm diagnosis and answer the clincal check list of questions and NOONE recognized that the initial scheduler actually scheduled me for a WRIST MRI instead of a BREAST MRI. They all confirmed the diagnosis from the script.
I received 2 cancellations within minutes of each other when I walked out of the office. NO ONE called to reschedule the botched appointment. So, I called the office this morning to speak with a manager. The person on the other end of the line wanted to know if it was a cmplaint before she culd connect me to a manager. After providing my demographics the clerk informed me that one of 3 managers would return my call. Nothing. It is almost 9pm, 12 hours after my original call with no response at all.
My surgeon has sent me for the MRI because of a problem that currently exists. He needs the results of the MRI to determine next steps in the care and treatment of this concern.
This UNACCEPTABLE incompetence has caused a delay in my treatment and has increased the level of anxiety I have experienced around the MRI findings and potential next course of action.
AMI needs make this right immediately. The registration and scheduling staff need to be provided with specific and clear training to be able to identify a WRIST from a BREAST. I did npot receive even ONE apology for the inconvenience in my time or the money wasted in gas and tolls for an hour long drive to an appointment that was incorrectly scheduled.
I was told that "they would see if they could fit me in" as if I just walked in off the street demading an appointment today without care to their schedule for the day.
SHAME ON YOU AMI.
Do you just not train your team in Customer Service Excellence??? Service Recovery is key to patient satisfaction.
I did not submit a review the first time this happended. The second time is just...
Read moreI can’t say enough about the staff in the women's imaging department. I recently underwent 2 different types of biopsies with Dr. Peggy in the Somers Point location. One MRI guided and one ultrasound guided. I have NEVER been treated that compassionately by ANY other medical professional. A majority of women's health procedures - in my opinion - are pretty barbaric so this experience was a breath of fresh air. The techs were amazing - forgive me I don't recall their names. Dr. Peggy made sure everything was explained in detail at each step. The real crowned jewel though was Leslie. From start to finish the comfort and compassion that woman gave was palpable. Everything she did was done with care. She didn't just shove a gown at me and tell me to sign on the line - believe me its happened before (not at AMI though) so thats what I always expect. Nope, not on her watch. We sat in a private room and everything was gone over, she stayed with me through both procedures literally holding my hand with her other on my shoulder in support when I was in the MRI procedure. She kept my husband up to speed after each part. Afterward she sat me down and explained everything and walked me out to my husband with well wishes and even a goody bag filled with after care supplies and a tiny angel pin holding a pink ribbon. Wherever this medical road leads, I will never forget that woman. Anyone is better to know her. Thank you so...
Read moreOn 3/24 I went to AMI for an Ultrasound. When I laid on the flat table I immediately became quite dizzy. I never experience dizziness so asked the tech to raise the head a little. She did and it helped somewhat but things were still spinning. When I had to get up between parts of the test to go to the bathroom, I could not due to the dizziness. She told me she'd be in the office across the hall and would be back. It took several minutes before I could get off the table. After the second part of the test I could not rise again without much dizziness. She told me she'd be in her office across the hall. I asked if she'd put the side of the bed up so I'd have something to hold on to when I was able to try to get up, wondering how I'd be able to drive home. She put the side up and immediately left again. It again took several minutes before I could dress and more before I could attempt to leave. I sat in my car for quite awhile before I felt safe driving. During this experience, I was so disconcerted by the dizziness that it didn't occur to me that she absolutely should have stayed with me to ensure that I didn't fall each time I had to navigate between the bed and the bathroom or even when I left the room and building. She didn't offer help at any time, ask if I was OK, or if should she could call someone, etc. Even though the dizziness passed right after that the...
