My wife and I often get hotel rooms for hot tubs. We usually go to Feathernest Inn in Cherry Hill but got what we thought was a great deal here. Not even 10 minutes after filling our hot tub around 4pm, the fire alarm started going off. It wasn't just in our room, it was the entire motel. Staff could not turn it off and had to wait for the fire department. The Lady behind the desk was super friendly, super nice, and super helpful. A firefighter and police officer came. They saw it was from the hot tub. The lady as well as both of them said it happens often and gave us suggestions on how to prevent it. We followed all of her suggestions. Around 8:30pm, right after filling the hot tub as we were getting ready to get in, the fire alarms started going off again. This time, a male employee appeared at our door. He aggressively pushed his way in, turned every single light on, looked in our bags, gave us an attitude as if we were trying to build a campfire or were criminals. We had zero candles, we don't smoke. We went downstairs to talk to him, he was talking down to us and at us. He tried to tell us not to use the hot tub them. We purposely booked that room and boom rooms for the hot tub. Why would we pay to not use it? He kept talking down to us and at us like we were criminals and scum of the earth. The same firefighter came back, looked around, said it was the hot tub again and was going to tell the male employee they need to move the smoke alarms if they're going to have hot tubs. The male employee also seemed to be rude to the firefighter when he told him that. The guy at first said we'd get a 50% refund even the lady earlier told us if it happened again and we wanted a full refund we could. Then he told us no refund. Then he told us a refund. We booked through Expedia so hoping he truly refunded us or we will be arguing it with our bank. The shower curtain is covered in mildew which at first we were willing to look past since we usually just use the hot tub all night. One more thing, they did not salt in front of their office. I almost slipped on the ice going...
Read moreI'm only giving this a 2 star review because it's in decent condition for a Motel 6. Other than that I would give it a 1 star for my experience. Not only do I believe they abuse the young girl at the front desk, but they choose favorites. I was staying there off and on because they told me they only allowed a maximum of a two day stay (you stay two days, leave for a day, then you can come back again for another two days), and that was the only place close by that accepted my dogs without an expensive pet deposit. The rooms are pretty decent, need a little updating though, but the front desk people watch you like you're going to take something and make you feel uncomfortable. Not only that, but I'm no longer allowed to stay here due to an old "friend" lying to the motel and the motel not believing me. Firstly, I was staying there off and on before my old friend and never had a problem with the Motel, then all of a sudden there were complaints? Secondly, they told me I was only allowed to stay for TWO days, but they let my "friend" stay for WEEKS with her loud kids and barking dog. Meanwhile, the reason I'm not allowed there anymore is because my dogs—who slept through the whole night and were quiet—apparently were loud and there were other animals in my car? Huh? Like, A. Who was and WHY was someone looking in my car? And B. there was nothing in my car except for a folded blanket and a coffee cup. Plus, the front desk said they tried to call me and knocked on my door to inform me that my dogs were being loud, but the phone never rang and I was in the room all day and night with my dogs when they claimed they knocked at 6 p.m. They never even told me when I did leave the room to walk my dogs outside. Oh, and they also shared my room information with someone else, but refused to tell me who reported me for my...
Read moreThey are not pet friendly, let alone friendly!!!! The staff knocked on our room door to lecture me about the dog fur on the floor. We were not the only ones staying with dogs, but I offered to vacuum the hallway myself. I then asked if we shouldn’t use the lobby exit with the dogs, he said “No”. I then asked if we should use the rear exit with the dogs, again I was told “No.” I then asked if we were expecting to leave via the balcony, again I was told “No.” I was confused by this interaction and when telling my husband about the conversation he was certain that there must have been a language barrier and I misunderstood. So he also offered to vacuum and even questioned about both exits. The remainder of our stay we had to enter and exit by climbing over the balcony railing and lifting our dogs over. My husband is disabled so this was not easy to do.
Then the room service was a joke. I really don’t expect anything other than emptying the trash and fresh towels. They did remove the trash and took the only 2 bath sheets that were given. They left the dirty wash clothes, bath mat and hand towels. After realizing that they were not bringing clean towels, my husband went to the front desk to ask for them and that was apparently asking for too much.
The rooms are ok. They claim to be updated, but I guess that is open to interpretation. The only microwave is in the lobby. They claim to have fresh coffee every morning, this is not true. The website also says there is a snack bar, which I am guessing is a vending machine that I never saw and I never found the ice machine. This was our first time staying at a Motel 6 and we will never stay at one again based off of...
