This was the perfect spot for a quick beach day visit. The bathrooms are kept clean and are unlocked for all beach goers to use. The lifeguards are friendly and experienced - they went out and got a little girls llama tube that was floating away…very sweet of them. There is a playground on the beach which is great for younger kids. It’s not a large playground by any means but it gets the job done! A climbing fixture with a few offshoots and a few slides. Behind the bathrooms are two shower heads available for use to clean off the sand before heading home which I really enjoyed. You can take a small stroll along their marina and bask at all the large boats you’d dream to own! Another great feature of this beach is FREE! Along with a parking lot that is also FREE! Read moreWe were here on vacation looking for a quiet beach to kick back and relax on rather than fight the crowds in OC. This is a small beach park on the bay and it fit the bill nicely. We hung out for the morning and watched the boats go by on the bay. A small playground for children and there is a shallow wading area that gets about waist deep for adults. Lifeguard station also. No difficulty finding parking nearby. Nice historic neighborhood to walk around in also. Many quality eating establishments nearby.
We also spotted a billboard listing the concert series they have here and we went to a show during our stay and had a rockin' good time! Great turnout from the friendly community. They actually get some well known names to appear here so I'd recommend if you are staying in the area to check out...

I know these are a lot of pictures but I wanted to share another little gem of a beach. Somers Point Beach (aka: William Morrow Beach or Municiple Beach) This beach is free and easy access. Great for families with young kids or elderly family members. Parking is right there on the spot and it has all the amenities. It is only 45 miles away and you can get there in an hour using the less busy back roads. There is swimming, fishing, boating, tiki bar boat, restaurants right there, clean restroom building, outside showers, free little library, a weekend farm market, playground, a covered walk-on dock with seats that are in the shade, life guards, a little stage for events. All of this is steps from the car. Here are some pictures in case anyone is...
