GameStop — Attraction in Somers Point

I take my children here all the time. Just about everything video game related I've bought from here.

Problem: the one manager is not honest. He will lie to you and try to cheat you. I've had several issues but here is just one.

I had a warranty issue with a Nintendo switch. This particular manager tried to convince me there was no warranty on this device after 30 days. To give it to him and pay the deductible for the extra protection plan I bought. Then he tried to upcharge me and sell me a new insurance plan.

I called Nintendo directly and they told me that I had a year warranty on it and they would fix or replace for free.

I went back to the store and demanded he return my old device and give me my money back.

Now he didn't know this but I had spoken to a different manager at another store location just to verify if they might have made a mistake... Nope, other manager almost didn't believe me when I told him the story.

So anyway, I went back to the store and told him what Nintendo said about my warrant and replacing it. He denied that Nintendo would do that... Then tried to say he wouldn't be able to return my device because it was already turned in for insurance.... Long story short...I demanded he return it to me and refund me. I wasn't talking no for an answer.

I still go here because it's by my house... I'm just more cautious and try not to...

If I could give it no stars I would! Used to come here all the time for years and never had a bad experience until about a month ago....Short girl that works there about 5 ft and always has her hair in a ponytail, was nice the first few times I went in there, then when I tried to trade in 2 controllers and a COD disc she said they "smelled" and she wouldn't accept them, but held everything basically in her nose to smell it? She wouldn't say what the items smelled of but demanded that I go attempt to "clean the smell off" and she maybe would take them after that. She did it very loudly, in a condescending tone and in front of other people that ended up staring at me Needless to say what a weirdo and I ended up leaving and going to the AC location, guy took my items no problem and without a sniff test😂 Told him the story and he verified that she's certifiably nuts for doing all that and they have no policy against the way things smell if that's even a thing. Stay clear of the SP location unless you want to be weirded...

went to this particular game stop with my boyfriend a few months back cause he wanted to preorder his kh ps4 pro. my bf joked with the clerk that once he gets his pro in he's gonna give me his old ps4, to which the clerk turns to me and begins to explain how 'the ps4 is also a dvd and blue ray player and has video streaming services'... now, i've been playing on playstation since the ps1 came out and was probably a few years older than this girl. of course she had no way of knowing this but also she didn't seem to care and just assumed i didn't know anything. she also didn't let me interject as she went off explaining the inner machinations of the ps4 to me. you might argue that she was just doing her job but i couldnt help but feel a little bit judged. i left the store thinking 'wow, i've just been mansplained...
