
Nice public venue! Traffic and parking can be a bit tough. Nicely sloped lawn to sit on with blankets or chairs, usually well kept and mowed so that the grass is not uncomfortable. Food trucks and a local brewery tent there to provide food and drinks. Sound was excellent for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra show. On a nice day, the place can get quite crowded, but it does not feel claustrophobic. The one down side is that while the stage is covered, there is no shelter from rain. The county does a good job in scheduling diverse acts, though it isn't always easy to get there on a Friday night after working that day. Most shows are scheduled to start around 8pm and are usually about 2 hours long. We found it best to just sit for ten or fifteen minutes after the show to let the crowd thin before trying to leave. Read moreThis outdoor space is so beautifully maintained that it's shocking. The grass, even at the end of July, was green and well maintained. As far as we could tell, there was no bad seat. There were plenty of bathrooms. The sound system was great - but not overwhelming. Their were food trucks with a nice variety and friendly people. The prices were even reasonable! Everyone in the crowd was thoughtful of people around them. There is ample parking, and the amphitheater was easy to get to from all angles. Plenty of parking close by, usually staffed by local police for the crosswalk. For County concerts there is usually a few food/ beverage trucks set up by the road.
