Nature's Own Market — Attraction in Southern Pines

On Aug 21 , 2025 I stopped by Natures own to grab some hummus , herbs , and decided to get a cup of soup. I figured the girl at the soup bar would ring me up but she said pointed the the tall older guy that’s worked at the register by the front door who’s worked there since I can remember and the girl said to tell him that she said 3.00 for the soup and she’d bring it to me . So I did . The guy at the register near the door started ringing me up and I said I also have a soup they are getting for me and the girl said to tell you 3.$ . He looked at me and his entire personality changed and in a ugly tone he said 3 DOLLARS, I said that’s what was told to tell you , He said there is nothing over there for 3 dollars he said it’s 5 . I said well idk he said he did ! There were customers standing around and it made me feel embarrassed because he was so very rude and at this point seemed angry . I had the girl from the soup / juice bar come over and tell him what she told me and she acted nervous and said she did tell me that it was 3 dollars but she forgot if you get it so go it’s 5$ . I didn’t care about the price . It’s 2$ and I have spent a lot there over the course of 30 years. I explained to the older gentleman that I just wanted the girl to tell him what she told me because I didn’t want him or others to think I was trying to cheat them over 2 dollars. And he said in a hateful tone ( yeah, whatever . ) I have watched this man be ugly to so many people in the past , I guess it was my turn . I will never go back there . I was treated very ugly . Life is hard enough, no one deserves to be treated so badly. So sad I supported this business for...

There are two parts of this review - the supplements and staff on that side of Natures Own Market are incredible! I was looking for some things to help with my breast milk supply, and the lady & older gentlemen were very happy to help and had some great products to suggest.

However, on the food side of the business it is very disappointing. The food was watery, the rice was hard and the dish was cold upon arrival. The naan was super hard from being over toasted, not like a soft naan from a typical meal. Perhaps because I have travelled to Istanbul and around the world I have a high expectations, but I couldn’t finish it, it was inedible in my opinion.

The server was loudly complaining to her co-workers about how terrible tips had been that day. I used to work in customer service so I get the disappointment but to say it in front of so many customers is tacky. I didn’t receive any of my drinks until after my “meal” arrived. Juice was okay - all in all not a $20...

I am so amazed at how awesome this shop is! I've been trying to not shop on Amazon anymore, and now I have finally found a local place I can get all my "weird hippie stuff" 🤣🙌 from homeopathics, herbal tinctures, supplements, and a library of awesome books to purchase to organic bulk ingredients and coffees and juices... This place is definitely a one-stop shop. I found everything on my fringe-ingredient list today, to include even things like bee pollen. The prices certainly impressed me too- they are SO comparable to what you'd see online, making this a very easy place to transition to shopping small & local. I haven't tried any of their drinks or juices yet, but they have a great place to sit and eat or meet up with a friend for coffee. Karen was extremely helpful in answering my questions and showing me where I could find things. I'll definitely be back soon and will happily recommend Nature's Own...
