Rec Room Bar and Arcade — Local services in Southern Pines

We really enjoy spending time at the Rec Room. It is very family friendly, there are a lot of things for older kids and adults to do, not so much for the younger kids. Some of the "games" such as the pool table, skeet ball, 4 way air hockey, ECT should have time/round limits on them. People will start playing them and refuse to let anyone else use them. Yesterday we were there 4 hours waiting for the pool table to open up and the same people stayed on it the entire time. The air hockey table was the same way. The outdoor seating area is very relaxing with the exception of the "no unsupervised children" rule that is not enforced. When there are children out there running wild, screaming, climbing the wall, acting crazy without a parent in sight it is annoying. That rule should be enforced better. The whole place is very clean, inside and out. The bathrooms are always well stocked and very clean too. All the employees we've ever interacted with have been very nice and helpful. I hope eventually the Rec Room will expand and build more locations, we need...

Rec Room is seriously one of my favorite spots in town! It’s family-friendly during the day—perfect if you want to bring the kids for some fun—and then switches to adults-only at night, which I LOVE. It strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and fun.

They’ve got trivia every Wednesday, music bingo on Thursdays, and all kinds of events happening Friday and Saturday nights, so there’s always something new to enjoy.

But what really makes Rec Room stand out is the staff—the bartenders are hands down the best and friendliest in town. Every visit feels personal, and they truly make you feel welcome.

It’s never too packed, so you avoid the messiness of a typical bar or club, but still get great vibes, awesome drinks, and a super fun atmosphere. This has become my go-to place whenever I want to go out. The staff honestly feel like family now! 🤍
