Their “rules” and “security” are a joke. Rules state no tents on camper sites (forcing us to get a tent site) and no kiddie pools yet we saw several tents/kiddie pools on camper sites around our family’s camper. The standard tent sites have overgrown grass/weeds and piles upon piles of old dead pine needles. I shouldn’t have to clean up YOUR camp site before setting up! We are paying for maintained sites! We spent most of our time at our family’s camper sites. Two campers we requested to have sites next to each other, we were given 14 and 13 but when we got the the sites, with their horribly designed “pull through” sites, site number 24 was between us and another visitor was put there, separating our sites. The two out of 4 nights we did spend in our tent were filled with kids screaming/loud music/loud talking well past quiet hours. A severe thunderstorm rolled through so we stayed in the family camper watching a movie. The storm passed about halfway through the 3 hour movie. Finished the movie and drove back to our tent site to find our site completely flooded, our canopy had collapsed into our tent allowing all of the rain to enter the tent. In that hour and a half after the storm, why didn’t “security” check on all the tent sites and notify us our canopy collapsed? When we did see security drive by they didn’t even drive through the tent site roads. And what happened to human decency? The tent sites were all filled and not one patron pulled our damaged canopy off our tent? We were up for several hours gathering all of our things from the 2 inches of water inside the tent and running our sleeping bags, clothes and blankets through the dryers ($1.50 per cycle). As you can imagine we were exhausted from cleaning up the mess and wanting to just go to bed we went to the family camper and spent the night at 2:30am. Only to find our neighbors at site 24 (between our two campers) had visitors and were still very much awake outside at their picnic table. Mind you, quiet hours began at 11pm. This family was talking/laughing/yelling until 3:30am! Where was “security” to enforce the quiet hours? The neighbors constantly walked through our camper sites due to the piss-poor design of their “pull through” camper sites. On top of all of this, the showers were absolutely disgusting! Mold on the walls, mold on the shower curtain, hair and multiple mystery fluids on the floor. They appeared to be cleaned once per day, maybe twice at best! These were the only showers for the entire campground! The bathrooms ran completely out of toilet paper at 7am and when it was brought to the staff’s attention we were told “ok the cleaning crew will be in there in an hour.” Are you kidding me? We’re all supposed to hold our bowel movements until it’s time for cleaning crew to clock in? Get off your lazy butt and get the PAYING GUESTS the damn toilet paper. Again, the only bathroom facilities for the entire campground! If I could rate 0/5 stars I would. Highly do not recommend staying at...
Read moreWe booked a site in August for an overnight stay in October. When we arrived we were assigned to a site all the way at the far end of the campground next to a stage , loud music and tents where obviously a loud party was being prepared. Turns out the CT Van life association were having their yearly get together. We called the office and even went to the office to talk with the manager to change sites as we needed our rest being on a long road trip. The manager told us that they were fully booked and that there should not be any issue as the campground has a strong set of rules. Or she could refund us the site but at that time it was too late for us to leave and find another campground. We ended up coping with a loud party next to us until late in the night. We understand that parties can take place, our issue is with the manager who showed low customerservice skills and was hiding behind the rules of the campground. She could have offered to put us on a wait list in case some campers would cancel their stay (as several ones did) or could have tried to swap our site with some of...
Read moreMy son and I have been coming here for years. He was 5 when we started "glamping" in their cub huts, and now he's 12 and still wants to go. The staff couldn't be better, the cub huts are ideal for those who appreciate mod-cons like tv, climate control and a mini-fridge, but since you need to use the campground bathrooms (which are very well maintained), you're 'roughing it" just a bit. Their store is open 24 hours, and you get preferred parking at the amusement park, which is a definite perk. (Go to the right most lane and you'll be directed to the preferred lot.) We also bought our tickets from the campground, and doing so, definitely saved a lot of time and money. We bought tickets for $35 each and the next day was free (!) When you get to the amusement park, you'll walk by the long lines waiting to buy tickets and walk ahead to scan your paper teasy. At the turnstiles. Easy peasy. The grounds have a playground, a gaga pit, a volleyball court, basketball hoop and corn hole. The store has groceries, souvenirs, and chess and checkers to play. I'll keep going as long as my...
