Spanaway Lake Park Boat House — Attraction in Spanaway

Where else can you rent a canoe or paddle boat for $10 an hour? Some of the paddle boats are pretty old and the one that I used on the day I went was too small for comfort for my frame. And I am just 5' 8", but have long legs and I was quite uncomfortable trying to paddle the older paddle boat. So if you are tall or how long legs ask for the bigger paddle boat. The gentleman that works the counter is always friendly and kind. A few snacks and water can be purchased there. One hour is plenty of time to make a trip around the little island, and it's wonderful to go under the bridge and around and see the beautiful houses. Very relaxing. Be aware that some water will get in the bottom of the boat so don't put anything down there you don't...

Great place to take the family, or even just by yourself to relax, and enjoy the water.. Boat rentals are available if needed, and has a small but functional boat launch. Please be aware, there are no lifeguards on duty, so please swim or boat safely.. It is kid friendly, and most everyone here, are very polite. There is no swimming at the boat launch, and no fishing there either, you can fish from the dock, as long as your not interrupting boats, trying to load and unload.. In other words, just be respectful. The park/boat launch closes at 9pm.. So, plan accordingly.. Parking is $3.00... I hope this review helps others.. Thanks for taking the time to read my review,...

This is a nice place to come chill in the day time, but the lake is nasty the ducks and geese kinda hang around the swim area and they shit in the water which gives you swimmers itch which is so gross and park employees do nothing about it although I'm not exactly sure what they could do about it but I wouldn't bring my kids here to swim there's cleaner lakes around to take them to, but the park is huge and provides lots of parking and there's big toys for the kids to play on and 3 or 4 big gazebos to cook under which can be rented and a bunch of BBQ stands to also cook in all in all it's a nice park just beware...
