Nice trails with diverse natural, rugged features that provides a wonderful landscape for dogs to explore. The steeper single-track trails are best left for the dogs as they sprint and play. Large fenced-area layout includes: Grassy areas (currently lush green in spring with arrowleaf balsam-root wildflowers) within a mixed conifer forest that is open, yet still shady, and safe enough for dogs exploring off trail; large logs; wood chip covered meadow; large shelter with tables; and garbage can. All the up and downhill exercise is exactly what dogs need, and with the large acreage available here it is silly when people use other parks to illegally let their dog run off-leash. Seriously, the setting at this dog park is similar to Riverside State Park and other undeveloped conservation areas in Spokane and Spokane County. So people who still continue to allow their dogs to run off-leash where it is not allowed, causes safety and sanitary (dog feces) problems for those natural areas that negatively impacts the visitor experience for as other human users and leashed-dogs. There are two smaller fenced areas, each with its own dual-gate entrance/exit, that have shelters. One also has benches and a picnic table under the shelter, while the other small area is still unfinished. There are complimentary mutt bags (for poop pickup). While the smaller areas might be considered for “small dogs only” there is not signage to designate. Someone I met there? Who is a frequent visitor, says that some people will use the small area to gradually accustom their dog to the “off-leash” experience and then move on to the large area. If a dog doesn’t have good recall, the large area would be very difficult to corral your dog especially when it is time to leave.

Volunteers like me, and a few other like-minded realist-hippies; have put in a lot of effort in over the years to keep this awesome 3 tier wonder of a doggo socialization spot clean and welcoming to all who enjoy experiencing the beauty of this sacred space. Sooo....some bits of knowledge & heartfelt tips are below.....🤔❤️‍🔥🤔 Although it can get messed up by a small number of humans who have no respect for anyone or anything, it's NOT always those whom are houseless leaving mounds of discarded fast food and expensive alcoholic beverage containers!! Don't be so quick to assume-if you want to create positive change, OPEN UP your eyes, heart and mind, and...get your butt outta your newer model vehicles and THROW YOUR TRASH IN THE DUMPSTER provided!! Sheeps & close minded/hearted peeps: Y'all can't seem to get over the fact that ALL walks of life have lazy, inconsiderate, hypocritical, selfish & TRASHY individuals... it's never okay to assume or judge... Here's a concept that works: Y'all need to grab some of your own handy dandy trash bags, some decent work gloves, and get offa that HIGH HORSE!! Be a good human being in a sea of crabs!! 🦀🦀🦀 Go pick up that irritating & annoying rubbish before it gets to our rivers and precious wildlife-it's not that difficul- takes way less time & energy to BE THE CHANGE & LEAD BY EXAMPLE than to stew in your negativity!!🪷 SO....quit yer yapping and complaining... start your own random acts of spontaneous good deeds & trash pick up!! So good for the environment and ALL of God's Creatures-Great and small!🫸🗺️🫷

I really love this dog park. it's my favorite around by far. it has a little dog park for the little dogs next to where you park which is still probably half a football field so a good space for them to be able to run around still. but past that there is the big dog park which has to be a good 3 to 5 Acres so tons of room for the big dogs to really be able to stretch their legs and play together ( from what I've seen a lot of people still take their little dogs into the big dog part too as long as your dogs used to bigger dogs no problem) and it has a nice covered area with some picnic benches too, quite often we'll bring lunch and make an afternoon out of it. On the occasion I try to bring a toy, but whenever you bring a toy just plan on it staying there, between your dogs and all the other dogs playing with it if you can even find it by the end you don't want to take it from them lol. the only other warning I would give is depending on the weather it can be quite muddy there, from all the dogs running around on it all the time there's not much grass growing in a vast area of the park, the rest has trees and natural grasses. I'll try to remember to take more pictures of the scenery next time I'm out there :)

This park is amazing. It has a big dog and little dog section that are separated from each other. It's a giant dog park that's all gated in. There are various toys there for the dogs, a small pool to cool off, a seating area for humans, plenty of water, and even poop bags. There are some problems like there is no water fountain or restroom for humans to use only water spickets. The park could be maintained a little better; sometimes the trash cans are overflowing, poop is left by irresponsible dog owners, and I know this is ridiculous but it could use some more grass but I understand that's hard to do with so many dogs running on it each day. Some times the park can have a not so welcoming crowd of people but they won't hurt you. A couple of times I've ran into people who just turn their backs when their dog is being aggressive or sometimes they just let their dog play while they sit in the car. Which, would be ok but the dog could be causing problems and still needs to be picked upped after. This is a great park for being a free place for me to take my dog to socialize, just putting the dog park their is amazing in the first place. I'm surprised a committee hasn't formed yet to volunteer to clean it up and raise money for...
