I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. RIP OFF! SERVICE MECHANICS ARE THIEFS AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT HERE FOR SERVICE. I SPENT OVER 600 AND SOMETHING DOLLARS ON THEM JUST TO CHECK MY BOAT MOTOR TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WORKS AND TO REPLACE THE IMPELLER AND GEAR OIL. WHEN I GOT IT BACK IT DIDN'T RUN. THE BOAT HAD A CRACKED INLINE FUEL FILTER THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A CHECK VALVE THAT HOLDS THE PRIME WHEN YOU PUMP THE FUEL IN THE MOTOR WITH THE BALL. MIKE THE BEST MECHANIC THEY HAVE TOLD ME IT WAS A CHOKE SWITCH AND CHARGED ME 100 DOLLARS TO REPLACE A SWITCH WHICH DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING. THIS IS THE REASON I HAD TO USE STARTING FLUID TO START THE BOAT. I TOLD THEM WAS THE MAIN REASON I WAS BRINGING THE BOAT TO THEM. THE MECHANICS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KNOW THAT. I WENT BACK TOTHE MARINA THE NEXT DAY AND THE MAIN MECHANIC MIKE STANDING 15 FEET AWAY TOLD ME THAT HE COULDN'T TALK TO ME FOR HOURS. THEY DONT RETURN PHONE CALLS EITHER. THAT WAS IT. I SCREAMED AND YELLED AND GOT VERY ILL WITH ANXIETY ATTACKS. IM VERY TIRED OF GETTING RIPPED OFF WHERE EVER I GO. WHEN I TOOK MY BOAT TO GULF MARINA IT TOOK THEM FIVE MINUTES TO TELL ME THAT THE INLINE FUEL FILTER IS SUPPOSE TO BE A CHECK VALVE. GULF MARINA WILL BE DOING ALL MY WORK ON THIS BOAT FROM NOW ON. I CAN 100% SAY THAT I FEEL THAT THEY JUST STRAIGHT UP STOLE OVER 600 DOLLARS FROM ME. WHEN I CALLED AND TALKED TO STEVE THE MANAGER AND DEMANDED A REFUND HE TOLD ME DO WHAT I HAVE TO DO. WHAT KIND OF...
Read moreI recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Hernando Beach Marina. I was Interested in a boat that they had for sale. I made contact with the sales department and looked it over. I liked it but being a used boat I was a little uneasy. The sales staff was less than helpful in reassuring me.
When I asked how many hours where on the engine I was told that it was not available because it was a carbureted engine. If I wanted a compression test I would be charged for it and for them to go over the engine and give it “a clean bill of health” it would be double what the compression test would be.
I was willing to overlook that and came in on a day that I was available with the agreed upon price in pocket and the intention of purchasing the boat after going on a test ride. I was told the sales department was unavailable that day and no one else was able to accommodate me.
I scheduled a test ride for another afternoon that was convenient for them. When I arrived at the agreed upon time again with money in hand I found the salesman had taken another buyer out on a test run and for my trouble I was permitted the opportunity to watch someone else purchase the boat that the salesman and had been working on with me for near a week. I am very disappointed with this business and would not recommend them to anyone I find that they are lacking in good customer service, a lack of proper salesmanship and would not trust them to blow up an inflatable raft after their...
Read moreWe had our bayliner in to their shop for service and carb work and was told the work would be finished in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later after not hearing from the marina we went by the shop to check on the boat and the work hadn't even been started. They did apologize and told us they would get right on it.
Another 2 weeks went by with yet again no word from the marina and they hadn't started work either but they apologized again and said they would start that day.
We then came back 10 days later and picked up our boat. The seat covers were missing and the manager told us that they were rotten and they threw them away for us. This was a lie and I knew they were in good shape and demanded them back and threatened to call the sheriff. The manager then went out back and 15 minutes later our seat covers magically appeared.
We got our boat home and when trying to start the boat it would not start after we had just paid top dollar to get the boat fixed and serviced.
We then took our boat to a different marina and found out our fuel lines were never hooked up and the linkage on the carburetors were also not hooked up.
After talking to several other neighbors here on the beach I found out they had similar experiences with this marina too. Please, stay...
