Trader Bay Seafood — Restaurant in Florida

My husband and I decided to take a drive. While doing so, the fishing boats made us think of blue crabs. A delight we hadn’t had in quite some time. I pointed to a sign, Trader Bay Seafood Company, stating they had live blue crabs. We stopped and went into the small building. The ladies behind the counter were very nice. We ordered a dozen medium steamed crabs, to go. Tables are provided for those who want to eat there or wait. Trader Bay Seafood Company offered all kinds of fresh, right from the boat fresh seafood. Shrimp, crab, clams, grouper, mullet and more. Trader Bay offered cooked, uncooked and frozen assorted seafood. Ice cold drinks and ice cream were available too. Trader Bay was clean and the air was filled with crabs steaming with Old Bay! Our crabs were heavy, full of sweet tasting meat. I definitely recommend Trader Bay Seafood Company for fresh seafood. HAVE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE UNTIL TODAY . PUT IN A BLUE CRAB ORDER A WEEK AGO. I WAS CALLED TODAY TO VERIFY AND CONFIRM ORDER. Upon arrival I called again with my eta and mysteriously the order wasn’t found . And then all of a sudden the order was cooked instead of live. I got nothing but attitude over the phone and when I got there even more attitude. The lady that I have dealt with for years who is usually very nice to me was rude and frisky, but another customer came in and was very nice with them. None of them seem to care and the customer service was just awful. This has really caught me by surprise because I have never experienced this with them. Not sure if I will go again. And I honestly don’t think they even care.NOT TO MENTION, I DROVE 2 HOURS TO SPEND MONEY WITH THEM AND COULND’T EVEN GET A HELLO,...

Update: the smoked fish has been amazing! I get it every time I come. Been here multiple times and it seems like each time it gets better. Use to live in brooksville and now I live in Tampa and if I'm craving smoked fish I'll make the drive that's over an hour because it well worth it. The fish is usually done smoking around 5ish, always call ahead to check and reserve your fish! Still expect a wait when stopping by, but as soon as you taste the fish, who even thinks about the wait.
