It's very clean. I also understand it's a hospital and can get busy.... But we were told to go to the ER for a test because it wasn't available anywhere else for 7 days and was necessary. We waited for 3 hours just to get a room while many rooms were empty and the ER was NOT full...Not even close. Then once in the room 2 hours before the test. Then a woman went crazy and all staff went to go deal with that. We waited for 2 hours for a guy to say they needed to do a urine test...after the person waiting for tests had asked them to urinate 30 mins prior and unhook them...they nurse came back for that, so we had to unhook them ourselves to prevent an accident...When he came back that's when they decided to ask for a urine sample...So we asked "how long because we've already been here 9 hours and we have a 2 hour drive still" after I had been up for 37 hours already. They nurse said "30 minutes max". OK NO PROBLEM...Only it was THREE HOURS later before anyone came back. Everytime I tried to find staff there were 2 young nurse assistants (I'm assuming) on their phones and ignoring me...But were also snappchatting (I could see the screen) and taking selfies which I'm pretty sure could fall under a Hippa Violation...Not appropriate at all. Finally after 14 hours we got discharged...Now before anyone tells me how hard this job is. I worked in Trauma for 2 years. 48 hour ER swingshifts. (In South America) as an PM/Fill In Nurse, as South America seems to have no laws and would probably have let me perform surgery after watching a YouTube video..But seriously, no offense as Im sure thereare AMAZING Nurses and Doctors here. WE JUST DIDNT HAVE ANY OF THEM. The doctor was okay. He was just stressed...I could run circles around half of the people we dealt with. Ive ran NINE ROOMS alone before, taking test notes, starting IVs, Urine Samples, STITCHES and more with no help as a PARAMEDIC!!! Not a doctor, not a nurse....Well to be fair paramedics are the soldiers of the medical world šŸ¤œšŸ¤›all staff seemed more interested in talking to each other and being on their phones. It was a cluster f**k. 14 hours for something that could have and should have been 2 hours tops. There were EMPTY ROOMS EVERYWHERE so it wasn't overcrowded...They had plenty of staff. All just too busy on Facebook. Finally after shift change and the night staff came on, is when things sped up. I'm just beside myself at how they handled everything. If we can avoid it we won't ever return to this place. PICTURE: A ghost waiting in another room we sat in for 4 hours. No exaggerations. 14 hours we were here. FOURTEEN HOURS for a 35 minute test and a urine sample. Thank God it wasn't anything serious. Also before anyone says "why did you go to the ER then for _____". Our doctor called and said too and even said they ordered the test and no one could find the order. This hospital should team up with USPS...

Update May 2025, after this experience with cox ā€œhospitalā€ I pay to go out of network with mercy and continue to have wonderful healthcare. Don’t let COX KILL YOU OR REMOVE YOU WHILE YOUR CHILD NEEDS YOU. Change NOW! I can’t begin to explain how bad of experience we had with our son having severe chest pain. He was in and out of consciousness and wasn’t seen for an hour. I asked for a Dr one time within 5 minutes of arriving They told me to go back to the room or I would be thrown out. A doctor finally came in a security guard, stood there and blocked the door the entire time and stared at me. He didn’t forced me to talk to him while in the room, talking over all of the doctors and nurses When my son was finally conscious and no one could hear anything. He said I would have to leave and have a conversation with him. He tried to force me to tell him my name I would not, and I was escorted out. They told me to call back the next day and they would decide if I was banned for life or not. They are tried to take my phone, they wanted the photos deleted. Then said if I delete them I can stay. So I did then I undeleted them as they walked me out for not bowing down to what the girl at the front desk said was their ā€œtrigger happy securityā€. If you can live long enough to make it to Mercy take your chances and don’t go to Cox. I was thrown out by this overbearing security guard. Due to this nurse over by me asking if they had a dr. He forced me to leave since I wouldn’t give my name. UPDATE It’s been 3 weeks and not a word after several conversations with the patient experience department. THIS IS WHO COX HOSPITAL IS AND WHAT THEY STAND FOR. UPDATE 12/20/24 It’s been two months now. Not one phone call after Laurel Brent promised she would get back in touch after I called a month ago. ASTER THE 3 time of not retiring a call she said she’s sorry. The investigation was closed and they have nothing to say to me. She was very nice in the beginning. But the truth is she is no different than the rest of COX, she told me what I wanted to hear and in the end was the same result as watching my son beg for care in the ER. NOTHING She went out of her way to lie and mislead us just to get off the phone. She’s worse than the others due to the fact that she pretends to care and help. Do anything you can to get away from Cox. It’s lies from the top down. You will die waiting on health care from this administration. As for shorty the rent a cop, ā€œhe’sā€ in the first pic. The ā€œnurseā€ that called him on me is on the right. She has longer greasy blond hair with Coke bottle glasses and he’s just like he looks. 5’ of shorty and chip on his chest high shoulders.

Staff is friendly, but lazy. Patients are ignored. They yell for help and bells chiming and the nurses just act like they can't hear them. Meanwhile simple medical supplies that they have on hand are refused to patients that need them, like hoses for cpap machines. Nurses give you the run around when it comes to getting answers for why these supplies are not furnished for patients stating that it's a "different departments responsibility" for providing said supplies. My mother in law had her cpap machine but forgot the tube at home and they refused getting her a time because they didn't have any "loaner machines" available. She didn't need the whole machine, just the tube for crying out loud. It was heartbreaking listening to multiple patients yelling for help and not a nurse to give a darn until I said something about it. Sure the nurses are nice at your bedside, but couldn't care less once out of the rooms. I wouldn't recommend this hospital simply because of the lack of care from nurses and staff, lack of hospitality.

Historically, I don't leave reviews. However, I feel compelled to after our visit this weekend. My wife was scheduled to be induced on Saturday, 9/28/24, for the birth of our second child. Being pregnant and giving birth is the most stressful event my wife has ever gone through. Her words, not mine. I would like to start out by leaving a glowing review for Dr. Tillman and the nursing staff, then I will speak on our terrible experience with the OB/GYN Tama L. Franklin. Dr. Tillman has helped us through this process for the past 9 months and has been amazing! I would highly recommend expecting mothers to call Dr. Tillman. The nursing staff was amazing as well! They were all very attentive and helpful during our short stay at the hospital. Our daily nurse was very helpful and comforting to my wife when I was away taking care of our daughter or getting my wife 7 Brew Coffee. Dr. Hearty was very prompt when scheduling our son's circumcision after his birth, she took care of it first thing on Monday morning and discharged our son shortly after 8 AM. Her and her office staff communicated great as always! The nurses told us that my wife would be discharged by Tama L. Franklin. Being the only OB in on Monday, we figured it might take a while for her to get to us. I asked the nursing staff if they could send a note to possibly have Tama squeeze my wife's 5 minute discharge in at some point early in the day. Tama had a busy day at the clinic with patients. The clinic was about a 4 minute walk from our room. We received word back that she might be able to make it over around 1, so that gave my postpartum wife some hope that she would be comfortably back home with her children in several hours. My wife had been suffering from separation anxiety from our daughter and postpartum anxiety. Understandably, she was on the verge of a mental breakdown almost all day after our son was discharged. We waited patiently until 1. No Tama, no word was sent either. Poor communication. We continued to wait patiently for another 4 hours. At this point my wife had been waiting on Tama for 9 hours to be discharged. Once the clinic closed at 5, I decided to walk 4 mins to her office to see what was going on. I didn't yell or cuss, but I did ask the assistant what was going on. I also explained my wife's mental state, which they had no regard for. She just wanted to be home with her family. Apparently, me walking to her office and asking what the hold up was on my wife's behalf triggered old Tama. 10.5 hours after our sons discharge, angry Tama showed up. Out of spite, she made sure to discharge the other mothers on the floor first. Saving the best for last. My wife is sweet, sensitive, and loving. She would've stayed locked up in that room all week before asking someone what was going on. When Tama entered the room, she immediately asked who walked over to her office and left a note. I raised my hand, I had been caught! All she cared about was being snarky to me, she cared less how about my wife was doing. We had family in the room to support my wife and see our son. Tama decided to act like she cared and wanted to know every detail about every person in the room, just so my wife would have to wait in the room for even longer and speak to someone that she didn't want to talk to. Mind you, this is just after Tama was out on the floor talking trash on me to the staff. We had the privilege of learning about her very POWERFUL politician sister Senator Sandy Crawford. You did't fool us, Tama. We know you could care less about my wife and her family. Regardless, we were discharged!! Tama walked to the exit, and decided to see us off while she continued to talk trash on me to the staff. As we walked out she patronized me in front staff about my so called "impatience". Instead of helping my wife like she should've done, she targeted me for trying to help my wife. We don't understand how a grown women that has been practicing in the medical field for 30 years can be so petty and uncompassionate towards people. We will be praying for Tama. Thanks to...

If I could leave 0 stars I would!!! I had found out I had noninvasive breast cancer in both my breasts but was very close to becoming invasive, praise God it was caught before that happened! Had my cousin not found a lump in her breast I would've never checked myself and it would've become invasive! Praise God my cousins lump was benign! I had to have a bilateral mastectomy done because the cancer was taking up most of my breasts so they had to be removed. I had a terrible time at the hospital staying there overnight, I wasn't taken care of the way I should've, I was in pain for about 4 hours before they finally gave me pain meds. I screamed and cried because I hurt so badly my sister took videos of me in pain, they were doing things they shouldn't have done like take my blood pressure on my right side because I had lymph nodes taken from that side. They done nothing but lie to me. But the thing is I'm not the only one this has happened to, I strongly feel I'm going through this so that I may help others so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I won't stop until they do something about it, what they put me and many others through should not happen! I'm just so glad I had many witnesses during that difficult time, I was told by my nurse at check in before they wheeled me into surgery that when they take me to my room I need to make sure to let them know when I'm in pain because it can be very difficult to manage the pain if it gets out of control, which it did because the nurse Tracey lied and said I had no notes and I wasn't in the system yet which that was a lie because I spoke to Dr Biggers which is my surgeon about my bad experience the next day when he came in to check on me, he was livid! They took my blood pressure from my right arm all night and half the day the next day which they wasn't supposed to, I'm not allowed to EVER have my blood pressure checked through my arms because they removed lymph nodes out of each breast so it could cause a long term infection and complications which I didn't know this until around 9:30am-10am the next day! The other nurse Cell kept coming in every 5-10 mins to check my blood pressure, during that time I was in an extreme amount of pain so I asked her to please just leave me alone until my pain is managed. My sister overheard nurse Tracey telling nurse Cell that she won't give me anything until my blood pressure is taken! They both should've known not to take my blood pressure through my arms, it was in my dang notes stating everything to do and not to do! The nurses in the recovery room had also went against my Drs notes and put an ice pack on my chest, it causes blood flow to slow down and could cause blood clots in my chest causing complications. I would've been better off at home after my surgery! They had also checked my blood sugar level which wasn't necessary and wasn't in my notes to have done.
