Beware, your privacy will be invaded with random room entry by staff and subsequent harassment when you catch them. You’ll have to enjoy the smell of almost every guest smoking cigarettes and weed on their patios, by the pool and in the parking lot. The sight of piles of cigarette butts littered all over the property, poop land mines and meth head parking lot activity can’t bother you either. Don’t forget that you must accommodate their housekeeping staff’s allergies and remove your pet(s) and children so they can service your room for two hours but miss basic cleaning like behind the headboard and the shower drain. Also, try to avoid the creepy male housekeeper that won't hide his drooling stares at your teenage daughters. They also withhold linens if you don’t consent to a room inspection once a week that you can't be present for. I ended up washing my own and was disgusted to find urine and blood stains on both of the mattress protectors and all pillow covers. Clearly they don’t launder everything between guests. Almost every night we woke up to doors slamming and people running and stomping through halls at all hours. They will charge you for the discount they “have to give” other guests if they accuse you (without any proof) of letting your children disrupt the quiet (when they were actually asleep). They can tact on whatever arbitrary charges they invent and when you ask for the written policy, there isn’t one. For a month, there has only been one tiny, mildewed washing machine that every guest has to share and when asked when the second machine will be fixed, you’re told that it costs $3K, so not anytime soon. Why is that the guest’s problem to know about? They make how much money but can’t afford to replace a machine to convenience guests during a longer stay, which is literally the point of the hotel. The plumbing backs up very quickly, the AC doesn’t get lower than 72° and the TVs glitch nonstop because of bad internet. Don’t complain about anything though because they will laugh in your face and retaliate, specifically the housekeeping manager and operations director. Overall, staff is highly unprofessional and unqualified to...
Read moreMy family and I have stayed at the Residence Inn in Springfield, MO for extended periods, three times, now, and the service has gotten noticeably worse each time.
The time before the last time that we stayed here, Candice was rude to my wife when my wife desired to change rooms.
During our most recent stay, when I checked in, Candice said nothing to the gentleman who checked me in about my wife's room preference. When we got to the room, my wife wanted to change, and Candice said that she could not change us until the next day, because housekeeping was unavailable. However, Candice said that she would have our belongings moved to my wife's preferred room the next day while we were out.
The next day, when we got back to the hotel, the staff had not changed our room, but when my wife talked to Andrew at the front desk, he came over with a new key to my wife's preferred room, right away, even though housekeeping was gone. Thus, Candice must have lied to us about that, and she was rude and also lied about the kitchen being the same size in the room that we were originally assigned versus the room that my wife prefers.
Since we have been in this hotel, our bedding has not been changed even one time in four days, and housekeeping has not vacuumed the floor nor properly cleaned the dishes nor arranged the room since we have been here. My wife finally complained to Richard at the front desk about this yesterday (December 7, 2014), and he apologized and said that it would not happen again.
However, today (December 8, 2014), the bedding is still the same, the floor has not been vacuumed, the room has not been properly arraigned, etc. So, I called down and talked to Candice at the front desk who apologized but said that there is no manager available and that we would need to talk to him tomorrow morning.
Also, the honey dew melon at the breakfast was going bad,...
Read moreWe are having an incredible experience here at Residence Inn Springfield! First of all, we stayed here for several days to do all the fun things in Branson. But we chose not to stay in Branson because most the Marriott hotels there received poor ratings/reviews. After reading excellent reviews for this one, we ended up here. Upon checking in after a 2 day drive from our home, Allison and the manager, Danielle, greeted us with immense care and warmth, making us feel like this can be our "home". Walking in to the room we were assigned, the trash had not been emptied and we had hoped to be on a higher floor. These hospitable ladies upgraded our room to one that would be more comfortable since we are here for a lengthy time. The next day, as we arrived back after a long day of fun in Branson, there was a very informative letter from Marc Foreman, the general manager, letting us know all the important details about the county the hotel is in, the address, etc, as well as the tv channels to stay informed of incoming inclement weather. This is going the extra mile, and we sure appreciate it! Very kind employees, immaculately clean facilities, very comfortable rooms, and delicious breakfast! Definitely 5 stars in my book and would HIGHLY recommend! It is worth the sacrifice of a 45 minute drive back & forth to...
