DiGregorio's Italian Market — Attraction in St. Louis

We usually go down to the STL hill 4 times a year! I grew up going their! During Covid we have not visited! Too small surroundings! Finally this week we went ! So excited!!Ready to stock up and buy! First stop! Digregorios Italian Market! First thing stock was not their! Place was some what, run down! Deli counter, family member! Two of them were very rude too both of us! They Did not want to slice or get anything out of case fresh! Just leaning on the back counter! Kept telling us to go to precut and packaged items! Meat cases were low very low! No thank you , wanted fresh sliced!! Where was the long time counter girl❤️💁🏻‍♀️ Place really seemed , empty! Bought some items, and was so so disappointed!! It broke my heart!!! My husband knows how excited I was too go!! We went to another meat and cheese market! It felt like home again! Super sweet and welcoming! Hope again!! My most favorite place in the world, might still be thriving!! Went to favorite sandwich place and they still making u eat outside!!🤦🏻‍♀️😞 Went to my sausage shop, usually get 40 pounds Italian sausage! Closed! Remodeling! No one there! Oh well!😞 I guess we are just blessed...

I recently visited DiGregorio's Italian Market, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made me feel at home. I cannot begin to say our great our visit was! The lady behind the meat counter was so very helpful with what I was getting there and with other suggestions as well! The canolli that I was leary about getting from the freezer are made fresh every morning! The best I have every had! Also the fresh made then frozen Gnocchi and Alfredo sauce, and imported parmesan made the best dish I have ever had in my life!! For about $15 3 meals that we would have paid WAY more then that each at a restaurant were made in no time at all! This was a stop we made on a whim and was not expecting much from.
