We had been taking our two French Bulldogs to this vet for about 6 years. We did really like Dr. Eric, however, there are a couple of staff in his office who are incredibly rude and abrasive including Dr Schafer. We had a recent health scare with one of our dogs. We sought a second opinion given her age and breed to make sure this surgery was something we wanted to put her through. It turns out that the second vet agreed that a mastectomy was needed, so I contacted Dr Eric’s office to get that surgery scheduled. I spoke with Dr Schafer directly. She seemed annoyed from the start of the call. I was informed that she made all the appointments in this office and was not sure she could schedule our French Bulldog for this mastectomy. She relayed this information to me despite the fact a different staff (the week prior) had advised that Dr Eric would shuffle surgeries around to accommodate us. She stated that she had no availability until February and would consult Dr Eric about the surgery and get back with us. We never heard back. That was almost a month ago. Meanwhile, we had to take a leap of faith with a new vet that we knew nothing about. We have had concerns that we were being “nickeled and dimed” at this office for awhile. Our last vet visit was well over $500 and we were charged $35 for expressing anal glands. The lab results were also way off as we had them retested at the new clinic and they were normal. Our neighbors also sought services elsewhere as this clinic was never able to diagnose their dog’s skin condition. We are highly disappointed in...
Read moreI have a bull dog who has some arthritis issues. I stand by holistic healing and medicine, so i decided to bring him to St. Louis Hill's Vet to receive some acupuncture treatment. The staff and the one vet that did the procedure was very friendly except for one women that made my experience so unpleasant I chose to go elsewhere. She was rude to my dog and said he would only get worse when the vet himself said he wasn't that bad. The worst part about it I believe it was his wife. She was cruel, cold, and unwelcoming. I would never trust her with my dog or any animal. She looked at them with disgust and wouldn't greet or ask how everything was going. I went elsewhere and had a much better experience. They should know that i paid over $2000 for my dogs treatments. I'm just so happy they didn't see a dime of it. A year later I called to get a second opinion from the vet and she scolded me about some appointment that I missed over a year prior and denied even reading my paperwork. She raised her voice to me, had a horrible attitude even though I was obviously upset looking for answers and eventually hung up on me. I had never known of any appointment, was never called or even billed. Don't go there!! She runs the place and is a shady B! She must have some major issues and takes it out on helpless animals. Please take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of vets in the city who do care about your dogs help and aren't trying to rip you off. Read...
Read moreRead moreI have been taking my cats to Dr Eric for 6 years. He and his staff are awesome. My accident prone Crusty had sheared his femur at the hip and required surgery. They took wonderful care of him. Then he flayed his tail down to the bone. The emergency vet recommended the tail be removed, but Dr Eric saved the tail! Yes, it took many visits, but totally worth the time and expense. Crusty has a beautiful tail! My big bad kitty Moe is a total terror. It is his way …. or prepare to get shredded. As long as he is getting his way, he is sweet. Some visits are better than others with Moe, but they try really hard to keep him calm and we do make it through the annual checkups. I cannot think of another veterinarian that would put up with my Moe Kitty and I am very grateful to the entire staff and especially Dr Eric. The office is clean and well-kept and they take you within minutes of your appointment time. (unless you have an appointment after Moe Kitty ^.^
