Probably the most authentic pizza place I have been to in St. Louis. When you walk in you have a perfect view of pizza dough being spun and tossed in the air. The seating area has an upscale casual feel too it. There were white table clothes and plenty of windows to let in all the natural light. If you go at the right time you'll catch a perfect sunset while you chow down. You receive complimentary garlic knots while they go over the daily specials. We went for the pomegranate sangria, not hesitating to go for the pitcher. The staff seemed pretty cool, I actually wanted to be all their friends. They offer pretty tasty sounding house favorite pizzas, including true authentic Neapolitan style. We went for pepperoni, Italian sausage, sundried tomatoes, and basil. The sausage really was Italian, not just pork with Italian seasoning on it, and the basil was fresh. We came for the pizza, but couldn't resist a stromboli as well. They make a BBQ sauce in house so we went for the chicken BBQ stromboli. It was a lot of bread, but also generously stuffed on the inside. Besides who goes to a pizzeria not planning on eating lots of bread? So dough it up and try a stromboli with that pizza. I came in with high hopes for this place and I was not disappointed. So next time you're craving pizza consider stopping by and seeing for yourself. *Side note* We were there right before the dinner rush started to show up on a Saturday. It looks like they fill up fast, but they have a cozy front patio with a fire pit if you end up having to wait a minute.

We went on a Friday night. We were told it was gonna be a 30 minute wait, waited about 10 minutes and got some drinks inside at the bar. We got a strawberry sangria on special. 10 minute 10 into our way, we were seated outside on the patio. Ample patio seating, and they work quick to get you water. They brought garlic knots, complementary, which are amazing and fresh. Probably one of my favorite things about the place. We got a house salad with their house dressing, it was super fresh and very good. The food comes super quick, even though it was made to order. We split the rigatoni, and got the pesto pizza (14 inch). The rigatoni had great flavor, lots of peppers and a good portion. Since we were splitting, it was plenty. We ate all about one piece of the pesto, pizza, great flavor, great crust, hot and fresh as well. Our service was excellent. Our server, Mikael, was super attentive, fun and gave us a great night. We will be back for sure, no doubt. Usually, this place is bumping on a weekend, so plan ahead and be prepared to wait.

Giving Onesto's 4 stars overall. We met my sister-in -law at the restaurant. We were there to meet her new friend and have dinner. Our dinner was good, but it was missing a key ingredient. We have ordered a Margherita pizza and modified it by replacing the plum tomato sauce with just plum tomatoes (it had garlic in the sauce and my wife and garlic do not get along) and having the crust brushed with olive oil. This pizza was delicious, but they forgot the fresh basil. Our server had to bring us the fresh basil we had to put it on ourselves. We shared a desert tiramisu . This had to be one of the most flavorful deserts practically decadent . This is a quaint Italian neighborhood restaurant that will not disappoint with a great atmosphere and a variety of choices to please your palate .

I have had dinner there 2 times in 2 weeks and wow the service and the quality has definitely spiraled downhill! The owner of the restaurant was walking around talking to his friends at certain tables I've been in the restaurant and the hospitality business for a very long time and when you're the owner of a restaurant and you're gonna make your rounds you need to make sure you speak to everyone because frankly I spent $20 on pasta I didn't get a second look from the man so I spent just as much money as his friends did I just don't think he appreciated all of his customers! Then to top it all off there is a couple sitting on the patio and they have a dog with them that's fine I don't mind dogs at all I love dogs but the chef came out to speak to the people sitting at this table apparently he knew them and started petting the dog I don't know about anyone else but I found that to be gross how do I know he washed his hands I'm hopeful that he did but how do I know. Then another server was passing by and decided she was going to start petting the dog and then turned around and went to a table I thought I was going to throw up I should have refused to pay. The saving grace was our server who I believe was new and that's OK everyone's new at 1 point in their life he was the best thing there. The food was sub par the music was so loud on the patio it was just not a good time. it was not a good environment and I felt we were not treated nicely at all I would not recommend this restaurant PLEASE DO NOT PET ANIMALS WHEN YOU ARE ON THE CLOCK. IT LOOKS GROSS AND DIRTY! And to top it all off I bet no one from the restaurant will reach out to me About this post...

We had heard such great things about Onesto from locals and by reading all these great reviews. It's possible we just went on an off night and we probably should have just got the pizza! We started with the Arancini... let me start by saying I love Arancini, but these were the most off tasting things I have had to date. We ate only a few bites. Next came the entree; I got the Chicken Spiedini, which I love also. Not sure how much oil was used on this dish, but it was literally covered... oiling down any taste this dish might have had and the chicken was so overcooked I had trouble cutting it with my knife. I only ate a few bites of this too. My partner got the Rigatoni, but after a few bites she asked me to taste it because something was off... We think it was the sausage used as it had a strange metallic, yet spoiled taste. Might have been the problem with the Arancini also! My partner and I were laughing at how unbelievable bad the meal had been so far. We are very polite patrons and understand the difficulties, so we didn't make a fuss at all. The waitress was pleasant and could tell how displeased we were with our dishes, but said nothing. She didn't even offer a to-go box because she could tell we didn't like anything we were served. But again, said nothing. The best part of the meal was the glass of wine I had, but with a bill of over $80. I'm going to count this whole experience as...
