I grew up in the St. Louis area and had somehow never been to the Muny. I'd wanted to, just never made it. I finally made it to the venue to see a show, and it did not disappoint! As you park in the dedicated free parking lot, or the accessible free parking lot, you'll notice the beautiful well maintained grounds where you can find a corner to take photos, have a picnic before the show, or just relax in the gorgeous surroundings. The night we went it stormed earlier in the evening. That was a good thing because it had been super hot outside and cooled things down perfectly! But, if it rains before a show, the seats will be wet. This is a fully open air theater with no cover. They do rent seat cushions for $5 each, which will do to cover most of the seat and seat back. Plus, having a cushion for a few hours in a hard material theater seat is helpful. You can also bring in towels, umbrellas, and I brought the picnic blanket I keep in my car since it's waterproof and cushy. You can plan multiple types of evenings out including brining food and drink for a picnic on the grounds, getting dinner at one of an incredible number of restaurants in the area, or get a pizza at concessions and eat at your seat. You can bring in food and drink, including alcohol. You can also purchase food, drink, and alcohol from the many concession stands around the theater. There is definitely no shortage of these stands, and it's really nice that you don't have to look hard for them or wait in line too long. Prices are relatively good for a concession stand and not mutch different from what you'll pay anywhere else. You can check the website for more information on all of that though. I recommend doing so in case something has changed. The venue itself is beautiful with an open-air design. There are several huge fans way above the seating on posts to help circulate air. The seating is on an angled design, so you can better see over those in front of you. There is a steeper rise on either side of the theater to get to the seating. It's a short area of steeper paved hill, but it's good to know what you're getting yourself into. I think they have accessibility services for assistance if you need it, but I'm not sure what all that entails. The stage is very large, situated between well designed side structures. The lighting and sound are great, especially considering it's all outside. The show itself was fantastic with great actors, and the set design and costumes were fantastic. We saw Little Shop of Horrors, and it was just so good. The plant, Audrey II, was just so well done and acted they almost stole the show! Highly recommend a might out at The Muny! As a helpful hint, at least years ago, you used to be able to go and wait to see if the show sold out. If it didn't, there would be some free seats available. This is a risk, but if you've got time and want to save money, it's an option. I think this is also outlined on their website, but look to see just in case. Tickets are pretty inexpensive if you do buy them. They are more expensive the closer you sit to the stage, but the view and spund are good no matter where you are. Great place that's just a treasure...

I just used the area for riding my skateboard. It's kind of a Last option when too many cars are parked all over the rest of the park. It's just a large parking lot for the Muny theater, and when they have events It gets full. The traffic can be really bad. It makes an evening at the park a really annoying experience sometimes. That's especially true for people like me who use skateboards to commute around the park. I must say it probably is one of the safest places to park your vehicle it's usually a park ranger there or in close proximity. There's not many people around the area when there's no events going on. I don't think it has much purpose other than being a parking lot but sometimes there are festivals. I've seen it used as a staging area for marathons and other race type events. Most of the time people are learning to drive or practicing their roller sports around the area. Forest Park is an amazing place with so much to experience and do. This is just another one of the many amenities that it...

I went to the MUNY to see Diana Ross and Jean Baptiste. Upon arriving to the concert we noticed a camera obstructed our view of the stage. After others complained we asked to be move. We were move to excellent seats, the front row of B7, where the view was soon blocked by people standing in the A section and individuals moving to unpaid seats (i.e. disabled). There were three people sitting in two disabled seats. A great part of the concert was missed due to staff trying to sort it out. We had to yell for people to seat down. I've been to many concerts at the MUNY and people did not behave in this manner. Individuals recorded the entire concert on their device which was distracting. As a frequent patron of the the MUNY, I would like to see them implement the same rules for concerts as they do...

Absolutely LOVE The Muny! What a treasure for the city and citizens of Saint Louis to experience the beauty of the performing arts! The Muny is an impressive venue though the ramps and seating can be a steep climb for some attendees. Wear your flats ladies!!! Had the utmost pleasure of seeing THE BOSS, aka Miss Diana Ross, for the 2025 season finale and she delivered above and beyond! Jean Baptiste was good as the opening act though it was clear the crowd was there for the Queen of Motown. Felt honored to see the Living Legend that Diana Ross embodies in person and thanks to the Muny for a memory of a lifetime!
