Steelton Skate Park — Attraction in Steelton

Loved this park! Has tons of space and variety. Took two of my kids (ages 5 and 8) on a Saturday and we all had a great time. Its been AT LEAST 15 years since I've skated 👵🏻 and I wasn't even good back then, but there was never a moment where we felt like other park visitors were bothered by us falling all over ourselves in their domain. My 5 year old brought his scooter and I'm pleased to report that nobody teased the 'scooter kid' like I've seen happen so many times before. Tons of people on BMX bikes, some rollerblades, and a bunvh of skateboards. A healthy range of age groups were present that day.

My 2 yr old grandson chance loves it and he doesnt even skate...on our nightly walks he likes to use the skating park as slides and sits on the sides & slides down the sides of the holes in the park his butt turns white...lol..he makes me do it w him sometimes...he says pease gammy gimme hand....lol...i love him...they added bleachers there for ppl to sit down and watch...my older nephews love it when they are here at my house they go up all time it easy and a convenient walk from my house...the only thing missing up there is a lil play ground for the little ones they took the playground for the skate park which was good but now they should add a little park there on the side where the table and chairs are then it would...

The town of Steelton decide to turn the entire park into a skater park and not for any of the local residents. It’s another bonehead move by town council as they think it brings in revenue which it does not. No place for kids to play on the swings as they are gone, the children’s playground is gone. If it’s not for skaters it’s gone. I use to take my nieces and nephews here to play but not now. It’s overrun by vulgar, rude skaters. It’s loud and unfriendly with the same selfish users.
