Loved the nutcrackers around the town! We parked in one of the small parking lots in town. No sign that said we couldnt! We had our 3 small dogs with us and had drove over 2 hours to see the attraction. We came back to our vehicle after walking around the displays for 2 and a half hours, problem was, our jeep was GONE! They had towed it!!!! Towing guy from “ Donnies tires” was there hooking up another vehicle. I panicked and asked him if he took my jeep! He was very rude and was hardly answering me as to where my jeep was! I also asked “ is this a bad part of town?” And his reply was “ yes it is” as he continued hooking up other vehicle. A nice couple that was also getting in their vehicle ( parked in same lot) offered to take us to get our jeep. Tow truck guy said I needed cash .z 100 bucks… to get it out of impoundment as they couldnt run a card!!! He said the couple could take me down to speedway for atm. The couple took us, I got cash, followed him to very sketchy area and behind the fence sat my jeep! All I can say is NEVER again will I drive 2 hours to spend my money in steubenville!!! They induced panic and this was so uncalled for!!! Put cones, signs, etc where people arent to...
Read moreThis was our first time here. The nutcrackers are well done. We walked the route, but it could be driven for most. If you drive it, you will miss the detail. bought a tea for myself and a coffee for husband at Leonardo's to enjoy at the beginning of our walk. enjoyed lunch at Froehlich classic corner. Their nutcracker is inside. BBQ chicken sandwich was awesome. Door into the restaurant is on the fence side of Washington Street off of 5th. Stopped by the book store on 4th off of Washington St and met the cat. We bought three books for winter reading. Returned to Drosselmyers nutcracker shop for a souvenir purchase to add to our Christmas tree memories. Each year a new nutcracker could be added and it will show up as red on the list in the map supplied by the nutcracker shop. Visited fort steubenville Park and went into that museum. The bonus nutcracker at the bottom of the map showed one at the Jefferson county historical association, but it was closed and we didn't see a nutcracker outside. Maybe it's inside. We missed out the...
Read moreMy wife and I began coming here in 2018 with our first son when he was about 9 months old. Steubenville is a charming little town, it has some local shops, food spots, & lots of historical value. The ability to walk the streets seeing all the nutcrackers that were handmade is awesome. There are plenty of themes, and they have only grown year over year since 2018 with the amount of nutcrackers that spread throughout the area. The shops (seen in pictures) have a ton of different nutcrackers to take home with you. The attention to detail is amazing. For your visit, the daytime is great, but night is almost better since everything is lit up! Last year (2022) when we were here, they even had a Clark Griswald station wagon look-a-like car driving around the streets all night with the tree on top (see pic). It is a great family time and we look forward to returning this...
