I was in this park for a little while on the afternoon of 5-24-12, just before the bold weather started moving in.
While sitting in the parking lot doing paperwork, I looked around and noticed how nice a park this really was. There appears to be a little bit of everything in this park. Water activities, places to play ball, outdoor grills, and the permanent shelter just in front of me where a group was eating.
From what I observed, this is a quiet park used by people who respect the area. I’m impressed. This would be a great place for family gatherings and birthday parties.

Read moreThe plover river cuts though the middle of Iverson park where you'll find a small and popular beach, hiking trails and pavilions for public use or rental.
Nature trek operates a couple of buildings in the park. From one you can rent bikes for the connected green circle trail (a 24 mile biking and walking trail that goes throughout the area). From the other you can get shuttle service up river to Jordan pond for a 3 hour paddle down the river. Kayaks and canoes are available for rent.
In winter there is a skating pond, lighted and staffed sledding hills, and two toboggan runs as well a warming house.

Read moreThis is a beautiful park with lots of recreation options. There is a great swimming area and beach as well as other athletic courts and fields. The Plover River runs through the park, and there are a couple places to land and launch canoes and kayaks. There is an outfitter that rents boats in the park, but unfortunately the DNR won't let them clear the section of river from Jordan Park to this park, so I wouldn't recommend doing anything but an up and back paddle from this park until you reach the first...
