One of the best falls we have went and took a dip. Access to falls is easy hiking on roadside parking , about 5 min walk to base of the falls from car parking. Water temperature was good on September 1 st week ans we are able to enjoy the falls. You can be able to hike to back of the falls by crossing lot of rocks and it’s doable for many who are at beginner level. Stream is not too fast and you can stand in the water. There is not much pool area to take a swim and you can walk up to the falls. If you are careful , can definitely enjoy the falls. Standing under the water can be doable by couple of person standing at same time ln the rock where the water falls touches the ground. It is natures best massage therapy😃. Kids will be able to go near the falls. I have a toddler 4 and another one at 13 both able to enjoy the falls. Not sure the force of the water on rainy season. If you are not able to get parking near the falls, you can park the car near ohio Pyle falls visitor center and walk in the trail about 1.5 miles trail( we haven’t done this but many did). We were able to find the parking near the falls (roadside). Definitely will recommend to all and enjoy this...
Read moreI have been coming to Cucumber Falls for over 30 years. It is always such a pleasant and peaceful area to relax and calm your mind. I used to come here in my late teens to get away from the world and lose myself in nature. I would find a cozy spot to close my eyes and to just sit and listen to the water falling on the rocks. Other days I would find a secluded nook to sit and open up a notebook and start writing. Some days it was just random thoughts, other days it was poetry. It was my escape from the world for just a little while. I was actually quite bummed on my last visit, because there used to be a bolder at the top of the stairs that had the Cucumber Falls sign imbedded into it. However, as I rounded down the trail to the stairs I found an empty opening! I looked around and was quite sad that it was gone. I have so many memories of coming here as a child and so many pictures with this boulder/sign, that to see it gone broke my heart. I still love these falls and will continue to visit when I am back in PA, but will hope they bring back my...
Read moreExcellent walk-behind waterfall for photos or enjoying a brisk swim beneath. The short path from the parking lot (not ADA compliant / wheelchair accessible) will get you close enough within a five minute walk to view the falls for a good photo, but to get a little misty you'll need to do some light bouldering for another 10 - 15 minutes. We visited on the first Saturday after local schools began their summer break. Parking lot was packed so we parked with other vehicles along the roadside. Despite the high attendance, the human congestion at the base of the falls was minimal (many people hike 15 minutes downstream to where the rivulet empties into the river just upstream of some mild rapids; there's a small, shaded private cove with a 'beach' of sorts where you can wade into the river about 20 feet to three-foot depth (gravel bed & a few large rocks). Enjoy the...
