I am posting this to share a safety concern. We were doing the spider quest today and saw a hole in the net. Not huge…but big enough that it was concerning. We were told we were the first ones of the day up and they did a “quick” inspection before we went out. This is the area very high off the ground and no harness or anything holding you up if you fall and the net fails. We saw a young girl (maybe 4) up there by herself and made sure she came down with us. You just never know. I did tell the manager and they shut it down and said they were going to fix it. He said this happens all the time with the squirrels chewing through the rope to get up the tree. I would think if this was the case, they would have to do a very in depth inspection every day. I mean this is at least 50 feet in the air and very young children are allowed up by themselves. I would not let your young children go by themselves. Also be careful on the chick pea course (end of course one). When you get to the wooden cart and it is hitting the stopping point, it can be rough. My son hurt his back on it. There should be a cushion where the child’s back goes. I tried to find an email to message the company but couldn’t find one. On the chick pea course, my son was stuck for a bit as well (course two). They left a hanging sign on the course cable that blocks anyone from continuing. It was attached via carabiners. This was kinda halfway through the course. I guess they put it on at end of day and have to take it off in the morning. They forgot that one. I had to leave my son up there by himself to go and find someone to help. I had to wait a while before getting anyone’s attention to help. My son was scared being by himself and stuck for a bit high in the air. He was panicking. They should be more diligent with things like that. For young ones, that can be a scary experience. To respond to the owner/manager, I wrote this because the inspection done before we went on was not very thorough and wanted you to re-evaluate your inspection protocols (more thorough). The person that was inspecting, seemed new. She had to ask someone else what she needed to do before opening it and it seemed very quick. Even though this is in an obscure place where the hole is located, that doesn’t matter. There was a very young child up there by themself. You never know. The main reason I noticed that hole was because the little girl fell and couldn’t figure out how to get back on the platform. I had to help her. There is no one up there monitoring young children. I felt the need to monitor her myself. I felt like she could’ve easily fit in that hole if she so decided to be curious and check it out. This isn’t a simple, slightly off the ground net and course. It’s 50 feet off the ground. Inspections need to be taken...
Read moreWhat an adventure! My 8 year old son, wife, and I came to Treetop Quest Gwinnett on a sunny Saturday afternoon and had a blast for 2 and a half hours. Wife opted out of the adventure actually so she took some pictures and just hung out while my boy and I went through obstacles and zip line adventures. The courses are great for confidence building and father son bonding time and the courses are challenging enough to keep a child engaged and having a great experience throughout the time spent on the courses. Levels 1, 2, and 3 are age appropriate for kids. They start you off on a practice course which is good for beginners who are learning how to operate the buckles and getting onto the course and through the sometimes challenging swivel plates and points. My son had a bit of a hard time getting through some alone so going with a parent or older guardian is recommended as younger kids can get stuck and need some support. We began from level 2 as we couldn't find level 1 initially so it was fun and challenging! Level 2 is a combination of obstacles and zip lining. Level 3 is appropriately labeled all fun and no work as it's a series of zip lines. Level 3 low was our favorite course while level 3 high was fun but had a portion towards the end that was a challenge as we had to unhook our connectors a few times to advance through the zip line. My son is on the smaller side so we had to get creative to disconnect. Also, on a few zip lines it says to stand up quickly which is important as it is possible to go backwards if you don't complete the zip line completely which poses a bit of a challenge as well. I had to go a few times after my son when he got stuck to get him to the other side by colliding into him and pushing him to the other side of the zip line. It all added to the adventure and excitement of the excellent courses. Treetop Quest Gwinnett is conveniently located in Buford so it was only a short 10 minutes drive from our home which was nice. We came before the crowds arrived which was early pm (12:30) which is when I recommend to come as crowds can cause wait times between each course. Overall, an excellent way to spend a few hours and to create memories with your kids and family. I plan to return with my older son as well as levels 4, and 5 are for 12+ year olds and is marked with challenging!
We look forward to future visits and recommend Treetop Quest Gwinnett highly.
5 solid stars and two thumbs...
Read moreI absolutely love this place! It is an absolutely gorgeous gem in Gwinnett county. This is a ropes course in the trees in Buford. I will say it is pricey, but so worth the money (provided it isn't too crowded). During the hot summer days, the courses are under the shady trees and you barely feel the heat! There are so many courses to do over and over. Level 1 is very easy and a great warm up. I think level 2 lower is almost as challenging as level 4 but I also have the balance of walrus on a tight rope. Level 4 and 5 are for 12 and up so when I see a lot of young children I skip courses 1-3 and head straight for the higher level because there is less people. Level 3 is all ziplines and it is so much fun! Level 3 upper is just so much fun! By the time you near the end of it, you are so high up! Make sure to look around as you zipline because it is such an amazing view! You can easily spend 3 hours here and not even realize it. Level 5 has a really challenging log section and I would definitely recommend watching some others do it because the first time I tried I got very tangled up. I've seen someone stop halfway and they needed to be rescued. Level 4 is a lot of balance and strength but so worth it, until you get to the end and you have to harness yourself into the drop and that thing is very intimidating! I thought I had met my maker when I stepped off the ledge but it was worth it! You go through an intro course to show you how to clip and work all the ropes. Its simple and straight forward. My daughter when she was 10 had trouble with it at first, but by the first hour, she was hooking and unhooked herself like a pro! The staff is really nice and always ready to help any age have a great time! My only advice is to email and not call because they are not great at answering their phones. You may also want to ask if they have summer camps coming the day you're interested because that was a little chaotic! 😉 but it only makes me admire the staff more! In years past they have a black Friday deal where season passes are 50% off, so we get a 4 pack and it's worth the money if you go at least twice. Plus discounts for friends! If you're thinking of going, stop thinking and just do it!...
