Nice and clean . No safety in Murphy Park. One incident happened at Murphy Park.I want to narrate that incident. I came here in the month of 7th May on H1B Visa. I am staying with my daughter and Son in law at 201, California W Aptt. No.604, Sunnyvale, Sanfrancisco, CA USA. On 15.07.2025 in the morning at about 10.30 AM when I was walking in Murphy Park, two women and one man came in car and a woman called me from the Car, Uncle please come here and asked me where is Gurudwara and immediately put a duplicate gold/polished chain in my neck and snatched away my original gold chain made in India of 8 gms . Then all the three run away in the car, then I found that they snatched away my original gold chain as stated above . I made a complaint to police at public Safety Deptt on 17.05.2025 but so far no action initiated against the thieves. Being Indian, they cheated me and snatched away the original chain from my neck. This type of incident is happening in Murphy Park for the last 10 years. No body bothered to take any action against the culprit. So there is no law and order in Murphy Park in Sunnyvale. Indian coming from India are suffering and losing their valuable gold items. Police and public Safety Deptt. of Sunnyvale should put CVC Camera in the park to avoid such incident. Serious action should be taken against...
Read moreMartin Murphy is a small park that packs just enough features to make it fun for most folks. While other parks in Sunnyvale's system offer more features (some have Volleyball Courts, Tennis Courts, Dog Parks, Baseball Fields, fancily themed play structures, and water features) this park is big enough for a game of catch, soccer drills, and tossing around a football. It features reservable tables with several offering barbecues, a fenced in kids play structure, and a small community centre.
For history buffs it prominently displays a stamp mill made by the formerly nearby Hendy Ironworks as well as a plaque marking that this was the former site of the Martin Murphy estate (the house in Heritage Park is actually a replica).
The only thing is that during the day there are one or two transients that usually take up position at one of the tables—they don't cause any trouble and are usually gone...
Read moreMurphy park is a gem in the heart of Sunnyvale. Down the street from downtown, sweet park fun is going down. Very clean, the park had a vast lawn for picnicking, although the head of usually a little damp. Grills for bbqing and can be reserved. There's also a community center where I've seen ping pong being played as well as a lawn game that I don't know what is called. The playground has tanbark with baby swings and is gated. It's not very large, but it does the job for 6 months till 4-5 year olds. There is also a piece of Sunnyvale history in the corner of the park detailing the story of the...
