I was in San Jose for the weekend and this is the second place I went. Got a flight of beer because that's the easiest thing to do flight came right away I had the coach the Stout they siason and the sour and out of all of them all the sour was drinkable. The coach had an overpowering bitter back bite and was too sweet after the bitterness cleared. The sea salt was pretty much the same a little bit of funk came through in the nose smell good took a sip and just bitter like bitter chemical bitterness. Try the Stout, nice sweet chocolatey nose take a sip of sweetness , bitter bitter undrinkably bitter and thin . The mango sour was the best of the bunch nice mango, crisp clean not too sweet not too sour, great summer beer for an evening sitting out on the patio. Friend had the fish and chips not bad, individually battered fish sticks good fries french . I had the margarita Stone fired pie and they must not have had the oven quite hot enough because there was no leopard spotting and the crust was under done for a wood fired pie. Now the pizza itself was delicious lots of motz, the sauce had a nice umami to it , anchovy I suspect but it really set the pie off, just enough basil ,very tasty . Service was good but on a Sunday there was not many ppl here. Unfortunately the food was not good enough to make it a place you would want to go considering the beer was unfortunately so bad. This isn't an individual taste thing, I know a thing or...
Read moreCame by around 7:30PM on a Wednesday evening.
Inside and outside seating, maybe half full (me being generous, could have very well been a third full).
Two of us ordered: -lazy hazy $9 pints -brewers burgers $18 -fried chicken sandwich $17
We sat at the bar. Beer was a bit flat to me. Server was nonexistent.
After 30 min or so, our server came by and apologized for the wait and food was on the way soon...another 30 min (an hour now). We realized food still wasn't here...I had to call for the server since she was non-existent...then I let her know that if the food wasn't coming within a few min, that we would just leave...she checked and sandwich was available, burger was an extra 5-7 min.
Food was ok at best...wait was ridiculous and without communication is what really ruined the meal.
A different person closed out my tab...and apologized for wait. I asked what the issue was and he mentioned it was short staff. If food was going to take an hour long, we would have went elsewhere. Staff should have communicated this out from the start. Person closing out the tab did take 25% off, but still not worth it at all.
Parking is difficult during peak hours.
Probably shouldn't have tipped...but whatever. Won't be...
Read moreCame in here for a team happy hour on a Mon evening - there was about 10-12 of us. First time for me (and probably last time).
Service was not good - my expectation, esp given that we were a big group, was that they would be really trying to cater to us. But not really - servers only came to the table if they were dropping something off. Never really checked-in to see if food or drinks were ok or if we needed anything. Didn't really care or at least it felt that way!
Food was meh - not too many veggie options. I ordered black bean burger and it was extremely greasy i.e. you couldn't pick it up w/o having your fingers completely buttered up! Only other veggie appetizer was fries or onion rings or nachos. Servers (as mentioned before) were not very helpful in guiding our selection.
Last - beer - being a brewery, this place is super disappointing. Limited choices and not very exciting line-up. Only one lager on tap and very few selections in each category. Again servers had no clue and provided no help in selection.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this place for anything - take your business elsewhere - chances are you'll get better service and probably better food and beer...
