Long review so bear with me. Had quite the experience with Gideon and one I wish to share. So the HVAC unit at our place where we have had a service contract with Gideon was no longer cooling. No mystery, second row beach is going to have issues. Called up and made an appointment and honestly the technician showed up did the diagnostic and left but did not leave any sort of notification, did not call us, nothing so that was not okay.
I emailed and called that evening when I arrived but it was after work hours and figured I would not hear from them until Monday so it would be a warm weekend. Saturday morning Mildred calls me and is just awesome as I was disappointed that nothing had been left by the technician so had no clue if he had even been there. She understood my concern and talked me through what the technician had done and options. At no point did she ever let on that I was jumping on her nerves or anything as she was being professional and listening to my frustration. At one point the supervisor got on but this was because I was asking some pretty granular questions and he wanted to help, which he did. The suggestion was to compare the repair versus a new unit with service contract.
I requested a writeup of the new proposal be sent and since a Saturday figured I would receive it Monday and went about opening windows but nope, I was wrong, Cameron sent the proposal later that Saturday and then I called back Monday with questions and had to speak with Mildred who handles service and Teresa, who handles installs.
Am not sure what is in the water over at Gideon as I thought for sure Mildred and Cameron were the exceptions yet Teresa was also understanding, patient, professional, and listened. I was bounced back to Mildred for a couple of questions and she sent over a follow-up email and then I was able to determine it was best to go with a new unit and new service contract.
At no time was I pressured. At no time was I talked down to as I am an accountant and not good with this sort of stuff so lots of questions. They provided me what was asked for, answered all questions, and then helped me through. Teresa and Mildred are tremendous to work with and in my many years on this earth, Gideon is one of my favorite HVAC companies to work with along with a gentleman who graciously services my HVAC out in Sampson County.
On install day, Junior and his team which included a guy wearing a Braves hat (sorry about your Braves this year) and a man named Rohan. They arrived early, were very professional, answered more questions I had and did all the work outside that they could prior to ringing the door bell and they were very quiet. They were here for several hours and when Junior reached out to me, the area was spotless. While I had heard all sorts of machinery and grunting and other noises as they were removing and installing, it looked as if they had never been in the house.

Read moreHad a recent Service interaction with Gideon, worthy of review. Originally, Had them come over to replace my HVAC, and we felt really good about the work they did and their warranty. Everything from price to service and the respect from the crew of our home and our time, was top tier. Having your AC out in the dead of August is never fun, and their empathy for the situation and drive for action left a really good impression.
We had our first issue with the HVAC system recently, and it was a 10 dollar part that was diagnosed and replaced within 15 minutes. we had some issues dealing with the initial bill that we got from them, which seemed disproportionate to the work being done. While initially dealing with the service team proved difficult, I did ultimately hear from their general manager, who went so far as to call us personally to resolve the situation.
Initially this review shared the disappointment regarding the initial service team interactions and pricing issues, but the GM who called was professional and went above and beyond to ensure the situation was resolved in a matter that reflected what we knew to be Gideon's top tier service. It was clear from the get go he was interested in expressing Gideon's value for service with his actions, and wasn't just worried about a google review, but the customer and situation behind it.
Sometimes businesses don't get it right, but when a business listens to their customers and go the extra mile, it's reflected in not just the quality of their work, but their enduring reputation.

It was hot and humid when the A/C quit, as usual. I was able to get an appointment for the next day. Zac H. came out and found the source of the problem while being friendly and, somehow, not sweating. He told me what the problem was and the likely cause, and showed me a photo of the problem area.
Gideon has a procedure to avoid billing disputes which keeps the job moving along. The tech calls in his findings to the office, the office develops an estimate, calls the customer for approval, and if approved the tech gets back to work. The process took less than 10 minutes. Zac had the needed part on the truck, and after another 30 minutes the cool air was blowing.
There may be less expensive outfits, but for reliable and friendly service, Gideon is an excellent choice.
