The Crafthouse Charcuterie & Bar — Restaurant in Surf City

This review is long overdue! I’ve been meaning to write it every week for the past two months, which should tell you just how much this place deserves recognition. Although I’m located in South Florida and haven’t had the chance to visit their new storefront in person, I reached out to The CraftHouse for a special request—my sister’s maid of honor proposal gift. She lives in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and I wanted to surprise her with a beautiful charcuterie board. After contacting several places in Jacksonville and coming up empty-handed, I found The CraftHouse Charcuterie & Bar. Even though they weren’t nearby, the owner went above and beyond to make it happen. She personally selected fresh ingredients and flowers, picked out a thoughtful card (writing the message I provided), and even coordinated with a friend to ensure the board was delivered to my sister. The effort and care she put into this went far beyond what I ever expected. My sister was absolutely thrilled and gave the board glowing reviews. I knew I wanted to support a small local business because of the personalized service, but this experience was truly exceptional. If I had gone with a larger service like Boarderie, I never would’ve received something so fresh, unique, and special. It was Saturday night just before eight o’clock. While waiting for a take-out order we had placed elsewhere, we decide to try this place for a couple of glasses of wine and a cheese board. When we entered, there were perhaps 9 people scattered about the bar, plus 2 additional people at the ten or so tables. We opted for a table. There were 2 people "working" behind the bar. After about 5 minutes we were able to get the attention of the male employee. After a few more minutes he brings menus to us, placing them on table with no other comment. We were ready to order shortly, but 10 more minutes passed with no return or recognition by either of the 2 employees. Too busy with the 9 people at the bar I suppose? Maybe our mistake for thinking table service given there’s a food menu. As we pondered whether we were indeed were supposed to go to bar to order or whether to wait for the fellow at the bar to return, two more people entered and were immediately served at the bar. I guess our mistake for thinking with two employees and few patrons, there was actually table service. Once we saw the immediate service to the latest arrivals, we opted to leave. Such a cute place! Had been waiting to get down here and try it and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The cocktails were wonderful. I will say though if you’re with someone who doesn’t drink- stick with a soda- because I just don’t feel like the mocktails were good at all- but it’s a cocktail bar and they’re good at the cocktails. The OG board was great and 4 of us snacked on it while we played a few table games - like connect 4 and tic tac toe. :) Really nice wine selection as well as beer selection! I would definitely...
