Surfin Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Surf City

THE FOOD IS GREAT, NEVER HAD CHICKEN LIKE THAT BEFORE! I RECOMMEND THE HOT CHICKEN TENDERS. THEY ARE JUST SO GREAT, COME ON AND STOP IN FOR YOUR CHICKEN TENDERS. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND FOOD CAME IN QUICK. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND THEY ATLEAST WELCOMED US AND THEY JUST ASKED WAS THE FOOD GOOD OVER AND OVER AGAIN OVERALL AMAZING ATMOSPHERE. THEY ALSO HAD A VERY NICE AND BIG BATHROOM AND AFTER I ATE I SPENT QUITE SOME TIME IN THAT VERY NICE AND LUXURIOUS BATHROOM. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE. THE WALLS WERE VERY DECORATED AND PAINTED NICELY. THE LIGHTING WAS PERFECT FOR MY YOUTUBE VLOG! THE AIR WAS AT THE PERFECT ANGLE AND TEMPERATURE. OVERALL AMAZING PLACE. DID I ALSO MENTION THAT THEY HAD A VERY NICE AND LUXURIOUS CHANGING TABLE FOR MY BIG OL CHUNKY SON WHO UNFORTUNATELY HAD A BIG ONE IN HIS DIAPY FROM THE AMAZINGG HOT CHICKEN TENDERS BUT THATS OK BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS SWARMINGLY...

This is possibly the single most disappointing food item I've ever received from a restaurant. Pictured is their hottest option and they didn't even bother sprinkling their powder over both sides of the chicken. My somewhat-spice-averse wife took a bite and laughed. Not only was this not even remotely hot, it had zero flavor at all. Was the chicken boiled? Certainly not salted. The breading was soft and sagging off of the meat.

We also grabbed a side of Mac and Cheese. Similarly, it was utterly flavorless.

I only give it two stars because the fries were decent, the food was warm, and the service was prompt. After taking the attached picture everything went straight into the trash. I could not recommend this...

Underwhelming! The chicken was not freshly breaded (breading separated when refried and served to us), and the fries were obviously frozen and reheated at lukewarm temperature. The buns of the sliders were Great Value quality, not toasted or buttered, and were served squished. Coleslaw also tasted like Great Value brand and was overloaded onto the sliders so that the buns became soggy. Multiple other clients came in while we were dining and had their orders messed up, or were told their order was ready and had to wait 10+ more minutes. The kitchen staff and owner/manager were arguing loudly in the back during most of our meal, making for an unwelcome/chaotic atmosphere. We won't...
