I visited The Surprise Community Park to take my Miniature Schnauzer to the Dog Park. They have a place for small dogs and a place for large dogs so you can really enjoy the experience. This area is newly renovated. Both areas have beautiful soft grass so the dogs can run and enjoy the open space. The park has everything you could want. Shade and tables, fresh water and bags for cleanup. Its a great place to visit. The people are friendly and you are outside the city with views of the mountains in the distance. It's a wonderful place to take your entire family. There are so many different things to do. Playgrounds for the kids and places to have a family picnic. Restrooms. The activities are arranged around a beautiful lake stocked with fish. There is plenty of parking. The community of Surprise has built a beautiful facility for everyone to enjoy. I've only touched on the highlights of the park. There are so many other activities available. Like pickleball and basketball. You really should check out the area to see what it has for you and...
Read moreGreat park. Plenty for all to do.
Great kid play area, full of lots of hands on play, climbing, spinning, swings, and more.
Everything is well padded for any possible falls and well spaced for multiple kids and parents, without being on top of each other or having to wait.
Plenty of benches scattered around throughout and restrooms nearby and well kept also.
This park has a nice little lake too... although not too nearby the playground for uncomfort, it definitely adds to the experience.
Their is a nice walking loop around the lake also, with plenty of different pathways... and some ducks wandering around to add to the fun.
...although you have to side step an occassional duck poop pile lol, really, all in all, the park is kept very clean
Plenty of grass area to run and free play in also, and it is surrounded by a variety of other attractions too, including ball courts, a dog park, and even the public library for a great added bonus.
Definitely makes for a fun little outing or whole day, depending on what you...
Read moreWe have lived in Surprise for about 18 years and have loved going to this park all of that time. The updates are beautiful, including the first responders/veterans memorial, the update on the pond, and nice parking on the north side of the pond. The playground is large and has lots of swings. As a mom, I would love if there was a fence in place at the entry/ exit for the playground that ends right at the parking lot. When you have a fast toddler/ preschooler, it would be very easy for them to run straight into the parking lot.
Our last couple of visits have been less than great. There is now an ice cream truck or shaved ice truck parked in the parking lot near the bathroom that plays their high-pitched obnoxious music endlessly. It's like torture. There has to be a way to make that awful music stop? It really takes away from the park experience. I want to hear birds and kids playing!
Overall, this is...
