DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE!! Let me preface this buy saying that i myself used to own a dog daycare and i know how to tell when dogs are not being taken care of. I also could tell you at any given time EXACTLY what was going on in my daycare and if any of the dogs were misbehaving.
The last couple times i had picked my dog up from this place he was bouncing off the walls when he got home which indicates hes not getting play time although that is what i am paying for. He also gulps down huge amounts of water which indicates dehydration from being stuck in a kennel all day with no water to drink. In addition the moment he gets out the front door he pees and pees and pees and pees which is another sign that he is being locked up all day.He also got a urinary tract infection the last time he boarded there which hindsight being 20/20 i know realize was because he was being locked up all day.
So the last three visits i have gone around back to look in through the fence to see if he was out playing. GUESS WHAT! all three times he was no where in site. The play area is very small and can clearly be seen from the outside. Today when i went to pick him up from boarding i made the manager take me back into the play area before telling anyone to bring him out. Sure enough he was locked in a kennel.
When i asked the manager why he was in a kennel he said he didn't know. And went back to talk to the kennel tech. He then comes out and tells me that the last few times my dog has been there he has gotten in fights. Now my dog used to goto my daycare every day for 2 years. I have seen him interact with hundreds of dogs. The only time he has gotten into fights was when another dog became aggressive with him which dogs being dogs it happens and is natural.
After pressing the manager(who i suspect is really the owner) about why no one said this was going on he basically told me he doesnt know what is going on in his daycare unless someone tells him. REALLY! he then proceeded to tell me that they keep "Troublesome" (meaning rambunctious) dogs separated in kennels while the other dogs are out playing. then they will put everyone away and bring the "troublesome" dogs out for a few minutes each and then put them back in the kennel.
To top it off. my dog was not allowed to take pictures with santa for the Christmas party. When i questioned the manager on why this he said "I just found out about that this morning. I was not here over the weekend." He then follows this statement up a minute later with the following comment "I was here all day for the Christmas photos. I don't know why he was not included in them" SOOO first hes not there then he is there. Added to that when i picked up my dog today he has destroyed his bed. And it is covered in poop and pee stains. YET another indication of being locked up all day.
So lets review the facts here:
We have been using The PawPlex to board our dogs when we leave town almost exclusively ever since we moved to Suwanee 2 and a half years ago. This place is fantastic! I have tried other places around the Suwanee area and never felt fully comfortable leaving our three dogs with them. The PawPlex fixed that! All of the employees seem to care a great deal about each pet that comes through the doors, knowing most of their names. Our dogs love it there and we love getting them back all worn out!
Our most recent experience confirmed my belief that I can trust The PawPlex to take good care of our dogs while we are away. My wife and I went on vacation out of the country and unfortunately, two of our dogs got into an altercation with each other, one needing 10-15 stitches. Jonathan immediately took them to the emergency vet to have them taken care of and then called us before making any expensive decisions. He made the whole situation easy to deal with, even though we were out of town. I trusted him with the our dogs and he came through 100%.
I could not be happier with how Jonathan handled the situation while we were away. Our dogs are recovering very well and we have Jonathan to thank because he got them to the vet so quickly. We will be bringing our dogs here any time we have to board them for as long as we live in the Suwanee area. If you're looking for a place to board your pets, you can stop your search, you won't find a better place than...

Edited review (1/13/19):
Not sure what happened but my dog came back pretty stressed. Girl at the front desk vaguely advised he had an accident in his crate overnight and that she had to medicate his paws. This is very unusual for him to do this. I can only guess and can only assume.. but maybe they didn’t take him out to use the bathroom enough? Not really sure why his paws are torn up and need to be medicated. Weird situation....
Updated Review (1/14/19):
My dog had an allergic reaction to something he was exposed to while at the PawPlex facility. I do have to say that the folks at PawPlex handled this very well. The staff did take care of my dog formally and professionally. And the owner, Joel, did contact me immediately after I sent an email with concerns about my dog. They took full financial responsibility for after-hours vet visit and spoke with the doctor to see what possibly could go wrong, so that they could address it within their facility. It looks like it was from their cleaning solution possibly - as it was possibly not diluted properly.
I feel this is an isolated situation & appreciate the staff and ownership for their genuine concern of my dog, as well as their admittance of the problem and taking full responsibility.
This is a good staff and ownership. We will go back despite...
