Princess Alex Ice Cream Shop — Attraction in Sycamore Township

A new hidden gem in Sycamore, IL...only 3 months old. This is a small, family run ice cream shop sourced from a local dairy in Belvidere, IL. There were only about 12 flavors (and expanding), but the quality and taste are excellent.

I had the peanut butter moose tracks and crunchy caramel pretzel...creamy, with big chunks of fudge, peanut butter, and pretzels.

The service was very friendly and they give you generous portions! Some limited seating available in front of the store.

There's a large free public parking lot east, across the street or cheap metered parking street side (1 cent =12 min, 5 cents =1 hr). Lot's of cool shops and boutiques in the area, and also Victorian homes. A great place to walk.

Tucked between Shawn's and the Frontier building in Sycamore is a hidden gem - Princess Alex Ice Cream Shop.

There's no indoor seating (you can sit outside, or inside of Shawn's), but that's fine - it's all on the go. Grab a cone on the way downtown, grab a cone to eat in the car, it's all good, and a huge variety of cones, bowls, sundaes, malts, shakes, you name it. Stop in for a treat!

Prices are reasonable and the service is amazing. The only "negative" is parking, but you can easily make an afternoon out of Sycamore and park in the...

Loved my time here at Princess Alex Ice-cream shop! This location has a couple outdoor tables and is basically attached to Shawn’s.

Personally I’m a hug fan of vanilla ice cream 🍦 and this place certainly doesn’t disappoint. ProTip: add coconut 🥥 flakes to your waffle cone.
