Cowboys and Angels is a prime example of why you should ALWAYS shop at such local boutique stores and NEVER, ever bother with a big box type, let alone, do this kind of shopping online. Admittedly, before my visit, i DID make a cursory search on the web just to see what was on offer and i'm convinced no matter what, i would have been disappointed had i gone down that mucky road, even if i saved a few bucks.
Of course, i've scrolled the past reviews for C&A and am very happy, but not surprised to see the 4.9 rating and hope it gets up to the 5.0 mark it is worthy of. It is ridiculous to take a notch off for the size of the store. One of my first majors in college was design and the proprietors could not POSSIBLY have done better with the space. To add, the lone 2 star review, which i won't address specifically, is just plain ignorant. These folks are top tier in customer service and while every single interaction may not be utopian for every single individual, they are knowledgeable, inviting, friendly, and simply want the best experience for their clients.
Annie is beyond a true gem. One of the reviewers stated that they didn't want to leave because their experience was so positive, and my visit was just the same. It's difficult to imagine how it could possibly have been any better. Annie of course helped me in my selection upon understanding my needs, but once i picked my pair, we got to chatting about life, clothing, and country living, and it was just hard for me to tear myself away and let her get back to WORK!
If you've been sitting on the fence about picking up some new boots, hats, jewelry, or other fine western-themed items (their men's coats were very impressive), HOP OFF the fence and come on down. You won't be disappointed. This goes 2X for former city slickers like myself. You will, after your visit and hopeful purchase, as Alan Jackson said, have GONE...
Read moreAnnie get yer gun! You would think with over a billion humans walking around the northern hemisphere it would be easy to meet to likable, pleasant, honest people. Well, math is sometimes just wrong! We all know there are brutal, mean, liars, and thieves looking for their next victim. But, you’ll find none of them daring enough to walk in to Cowboys and Angels in Old Sykesville. My bride wanted some boots and we had visited a couple places with no luck and plenty of thieves just wanting to make a quick buck. When we walked in to Cowboys and Angels on Main Street in old Sykesville, I immediately sensed something different; couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but it felt good. As good as shopping for boots for your girl gets I guess. In my line of work, you learn to trust first impressions. I was right. Annie is a pleasure and a treasure! She didn’t “sell” my bride any boots. She merely pointed out what was good, even some that she felt weren’t right (for my wife) and she let my wife make her mind up. No pressure , now I know she’s in business to make money, but it was almost that she didn’t care if she made a sale; she wanted my wife to be happy. She achieved that and made a sale (three pair actually). I was in the market as well, but unlike my wife, I had very specific needs/wants and Annie is working on that. But I couldn’t let the day go by without recognizing this place. We love old Sykesville anyway, Becks is always great to eat at and Main Street always has something worthwhile. Just make sure you stop in Cowboys and Angels. Even if you’re not into western wear, there’s great stuff in there for anyone. And Annie, well I’m sure she has her gun handy if rustlers think they’re lucky! Thanks for a great...
Read moreAnnie was kind. I called the day before to see if they had a website, no but she asked if she could send a video of some booties. Thank you. I came in today. I started looking around. Hard to find boots for me. Me and another lady were also looking. Annie was very kind and helpful to both of us. We both found at the end the same boot. Exquisite, I loved it. I told her I would have to wait because I was just a part time cashier. I needed to save my money. I told the other lady this was a nice store and I compared how nice to boot barn and cowboy. However they both helped me kindly. Now I am rethinking. Because as soon as I made both those statements she immediately turned away from me. Did not talk to me anymore. And insisted that lady was in need of those boots. I felt horrible. All because I am a cashier and my money is not good enough. That is horrible. Blessings to you Annie. I hope you and all your boots see...
