My friend and I were in here for a good 30-40 minutes browsing CD's until the rudest employee I've ever met decided to accuse us of stealing. He seemed rude from the second we walked in but I really didn't expect this. This very tall and intimidating man barged up to us, two young teenagers, and practically yelled "what else do you have" while staring at my friends bag in the middle of the store which caused everyone around us to turn and look at us. We were very confused as I literally had a $20 bill in my hand and the man had seen us a few times with the CD so we obviously weren't stealing it. He asked me if I was messing with the wrapper and I told him that if I was, it wasn't intentional which is the truth. I have a habit of fiddling with whatever's in my hand but I feel it was pretty clear that I was in no way trying to open the packaging. He grabbed the CD from me and very rudely asked if we were ready to check out and when we said no, he took the CD up to the front. My friend and I were incredibly shaken and I just wanted to leave but I paid for the CD anyway because I didn't want to give him further reason to think we were going to steal it. Read morei went to the mall wanting to go to barnes and noble but being new to the area, i didn't realize there isn't a barnes and noble here. so, my boyfriend and i went to this store to buy an album instead of waste the trip to the mall and at checkout, we declined to share our email and the check out person asked if she could get our number for a loyalty system. thinking it was just a simple thing of using your phone number to accrue points, we obliged and then were told we would be given a card that was initially free but would change into an $11 per month charge after the first month, with all kinds of "benefits." not wanting to be stuck there any longer after sitting through this process, we left with the plan to just cancel the card on the drive home. upon calling the customer service line, we learned it's actually a lie that you can cancel anytime. you must wait 1-3 days before cancelling. the agent hung up on us after explaining that. beyond that stupid and frustrating experience, the stock is overpriced and the store is messy. it honestly looks like leftover garbage that doesn't sell at hot topic and barnes and noble gets sent here. will not...
Read moreWent in looking for a specific movie and called in ahead of time they're very helpful over the phone but once I got there in person they magically couldn't find the movie and just acting kinda as if the whole experience was just some inconvenience, luckily I was able to find it myself and then was overcharged for said movie. I try to look back on the interaction to make sense of it, see if I was rude at all, but I used all my please and thank yous and talked in a calm tone (maybe overly nice?)... As someone who works in customer service was very saddened by the whole experience. I will admit my bad for not paying more attention on being overcharged so it kind of sucks when you get home and realize that you did not get set advertised price boldly printed on the front of the gosh dang movie, seems like shady business to me.
