Skylandia is a great park and beach along the north shore of Lake Tahoe. There is a main area with a pier that allows for 2-3 groups deep in the sand, while the portion further west is narrower. There were folks swimming along the entire beach section, paddle boarding, and jumping from the pier. There is parking in the nearby neighborhood streets, and it is roughly ten minutes walking down to the beach. There are stairs, so it is not (easily) handicap accessible. There were several police offers nearby, but this was Saturday of a holiday weekend in July. Great spot!

Good little beach but VERY small right now (when the Lake level is high). It's not a huge sandy beach but good spot for a panorama of the Lake. No boulders with turquoise water like Sand Harbor, but definitely a calmer atmosphere than busy Sand Harbor. Nearby to Tahoe City. Cool little dock good for wedding photos and selfies. When the water is calm, and it's not raining or snowing, this is an EXCELLENT spot to watch the sunset. Very limited parking. Cool little paths nearby.

Nice little beach hidden away with panoramic views of the whole lake. Includes a little pier and picnic tables in the shade. Not widely known by tourists and away from the highway. There are a couple feet of little rocks going into the water but other than that it is all sand! Note: Skylandia Summer camp takes up about 1/8 of the beach during the summer. Parking is limited.

This is a nice clean beach with soft sand that wasn't too busy when we came in August, however the only reason for the 3 stars is because it is listed, on many websites, including the national forest maps, as a dog-friendly beach, and for this reason we opted to get an air B&B near this beach; however upon arriving with our two beach loving dogs, we found signs that stated no dog allowed on the beach. In fact every beach we visited in the area, previously listed as dog-friendly, no longer allow dogs. The signs state that dog feces affect the clarity of the water. I found this frustrating because there are no restrictions against humans urinating in the water, wearing chemical sunscreen, lotions, or hair products in the water, additionally boats are allowed to sit in the water all season without being lifted off the water, potentially leaking oil & chemicals....all of which harm the aquatic ecosystem. Even more surprising, we walked up the beach in the west direction some ways and found a drainage pipe that drained directly into the lake. Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places, and I completely support keeping the water clean and healthy, but I just cannot believe that dog feces have a higher impact than all of the aforementioned contaminants. It saddens me that dogs are not being welcomed on many of the beaches, trails, and even...

There is very little available parking. The west entrance parking lot has maybe 5 spaces. You can park in the neighborhood if you can find a spot and assuming that one of the homeowners doesn't yell at you for parking somewhere. The streets are extremely narrow and without sidewalks, so parking spaces aren't very clear. The walk to the beach is pleasant and not too far or steep. The beach is a fairly small area, so it gets packed quickly. Saturday seemed like an exceedingly...
