Belmont Heights Estates II (fka Belmont Heights Phase III) — Attraction in Tampa

BEWARE! They have a parking scam where their contract company preys on any car in the lot and tows them right after they leave the car. We were canvassing for a one day pop up COVID-19 vaccination site a few blocks away. We called the office for permission to work the property to alert residents we would be in the area and was transferred to voice mail. The mapping app we used said the office was closed and we had to make an appointment. After getting voice mail we called back and no one answered. Because we felt it was in the best interest to alert the community to the one day presence of the vaccination site we parked and started knocking on doors. Less than three minutes later we saw our car getting towed. When we stopped the truck the tow truck driver gave us a choice of paying $62 to drop the car or $120 to tow it away. We took photos of all of the no parking signs to share with our supervisor, showing it was impossible to help the residents if we didn't park somewhere. While taking photos we stumbled on an office and, while the doors were locked, someone did come out when we rang the door bell. They claimed they could do nothing after we paid, even tho' if we didn't pay the car would have been towed away. However they could have given us a permit for the day if we had called them. I showed them my phone call list showing we tried to contact them twice. Still they refused to reimburse us (every company has petty cash and discretion for such events) even after they discovered we were trying to help the community. Great customer service! The people in the office really cares about the residents and anybody they crosses path with. Most of the time when I call, I get a answer. If don't get an answer, I leave a message and they call right back. So glad they great...
