Taylor Farm is great for a day out with the family. It’s also a good place to visit to just take a walk. Entry is reasonably priced. Parking is plentiful, but, be careful if a wedding is taking place or a wedding photo shoot, you might need to park around the corner! It is butted up to a beautiful set of gardens so the fun just seems to keep going on.
The animals are kept healthy and look contented and happy. There is a wide selection of animals, from ducks to chickens, cows, sheep, pigs, goats and more, so the visit is truly a farm experience. It is a nice location to take school age children, either with family and friends or a full-fledged school outing with the whole class.
There is enough information here for anyone seeking information about agriculture in Michigan to get a good start. There are short science events offered from time to time and seasonal events that are offered throughout the year. The nice thing about that is that for the seasonal events and to enjoy the decorations there is no additional charge. There may be some small additional charge added for special events or science presentations that require participation.
A special treat for me has always been the interpretive signage in the barns that present the many different types of fowl, cows and other creatures. Yeehaw! It’s always a nice time.
Staff and management are friendly and knowledgeable. The buildings are partially powered by solar and wind power! There’s a lot to see an learn. Bring a picnic lunch and make...
Read moreWe had my daughters 1st birthday here and was overall pleased with the service. For instance, when we came into the room the floor was damp since the staff had just cleaned it for us and knowing this, I really appreciated. They were very respectful toward us, helpful with bringing us the carrots to feed the animals and a quick to answer any questions we had. The only negatives that happened during the time of the party happened to be that they put the animals away before our party ended (our party was from 2pm-5pm), which was unfortunate for the party guests who wanted to visit with the animals a little after 4:30pm. The hours to the public for this day did say until 4:30pm, however, we weren't informed that if we wanted to take a tour of the animals or see them at our own pace during the party then it had to be done before this time. One last thing was being misinformed about the amount of time we had to set up for the party. At first when I called I was told 30 minutes, which seemed doable but then was told 15 minutes, which did not. In order to have more time there was an option of paying an extra $100 for an hour but only if it was available, which I thought was pricey. Overall everything went smoothly and am pleased with our experience other than a few things. We...
Read moreMy hubby, my babies, sister and I just left this place about an hour and a half ago and it was so awesome. This petting farm will definitely become a fall staple for our family to visit. The place isn't too big but just big enough to give you a sense of adventure and fun. Upon artival, we were able to buy some small nicely priced toys for the kids and the price of admission is beyond reasonable. I have a 1 and 3 year old and they had a blast. My tots were able to touch several animals and enjoy the park like serene scenery. The other thing I loved about the petting farm is the friendly staff and well kept grounds....never have I ever in the history of everdom smelled animals so well kept...even the pig smelled freshly bathed...talk about impecable upkeep. We're going to the cider mill soon, but, this was a nice, simple and quaint activity that allowed the kids and the adults to get out without over-exerting yourself.
Synopsis: Beautiful place Not alot of walking Straight to the point Quick activity Cheap admission Lots of cool animals Very...
