This is an open and honest review - me and my husband came in for dinner. When we got our waters, my husband realized his cup had floaties. Then when our waitress brought him a new cup, there was even more floaties than before. Then when my cup got refilled, a HAIR came in with the water that was poured so we asked for canned pop… The sushi was alright, the chicken fried rice was good. I ordered a menu item and they didn’t include everything that was supposed to be in my entree (because they were out) and didn’t disclose that to me. They ended up not charging me for that which I was very thankful for… after the drink mishaps, we felt scared to continue but wanted to give it a fighting chance. Overall, I’d say it’s fair to give a two star review. The staff was nice, it just wasn’t up to par with everything we had...

This place is absolutely horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone downriver. The Sushi Bar on Telegraph is a million times better than this shabby little place. Everything in the restaurant was dirty. Everything in the pictures cost us a total of $55. You can get more at any other sushi place and leave feeling full for less. Nothing seemed fresh, everything pretty much seemed fake. Music was terrible as well. Someone kept skipping songs and they didn't even bother using a Spotify playlist. Waiter was terrible, couldn't understand him, nor did he bother coming back to the table or serve our food. (We ordered 2 Hot Spicy Seafood Bibimbab bowls, a california roll, a crunchy roll, and 2 cokes, which came in cans). If I was downriver looking for sushi, I'd avoid this place...

To be honest I was very disappointed in what I ordered. I ordered off the website and when I made it up there they never had the order made or even knew it existed, so they had to make it when I got there. I ordered shrimp tempura, dumplings, and a roll and I wasn’t even able to finish due to lack of flavor and the taste on the dumplings was very off, almost like it was old or spoiled. The tempura just tasted oily, and there was more of the batter than there was shrimp. The sushi had to be the better part of the meal but even then i ate it at that point just to have something on my stomach and not to waste my money. I was hoping this would be my go to place since I live so close but the experience doesn’t make me want...

I love this restaurant! The sushi has always been spot on with a beautiful presentation. And the service has always been good. I only have one small critique, and that is for them to stop using the cleaner #Fabuloso! When you walk in the door that smell of the cleaner is so strong, It is overwhelming... When I go into a restaurant, I like to smell what is cooking, not the product that you use to clean with. The smell of fabulous was so powerful, I could almost taste it . Anyone that has ever used this product knows that's what the smell is. Other than that, this restaurant is great! I will go back many times it is so convenient right here in Downriver!

The best sushi place downriver. Period. I said it. We have been to several sushi restaurants downriver, and Koja Sushi is by far superior to all the others. My wife had read the reviews, and saw that Koja opened a restaurant near us, and wanted to try. We ordered 5 rolls, which ended up being about 1 roll too many for us. All the flavors were awesome. Every roll was expertly created and the presentation was excellent. The serice was also excellent. Very attentive. While we were there, 5 orders from door dash or similar were picked up, and I can see why, their cuisine is incredibly delicious!!
