Awesome small town cinema! I hope more people will visit their own small town cinemas and movie theaters before they all disappear. The one in Bergenfield and Tenafly were both lost a few years ago due to few people visiting which is a shame. AMC is great for what it is, but these small town theaters have a timeless charm, a real peek into our history, low and affordable prices that you will absolutely NEVER find at any AMC, closer to home, and great quality picture & sound.
Specifically at this location, they renovated it a few years back so the screens, projectors, speakers and seats are all much better than they were. Prices during peak hours are $10 for adults and off peak are $8. This is the price all movie theaters should be so that families, friends and special ones can enjoy going out to see a movie multiple times per month without going broke. One visit to an AMC theater can easily break $150 for 3 tickets plus food and drinks. That is insane and with so many people unemployed now I can't imagine how they would be able to get anyone to come back multiple visits per month. But a nice local theater like this one keeps those crazy prices down and gives you a fun place to share with family and friends and gets you off your couch and off of those cellphone screens for a few hours of something fun and different.
Snacks and drinks are affordable and way better than the prices at any AMC.
On street parking is nearby but limited. There are large free parking lots a few blocks away from the theater including one near the...
Read moreToday me and my brother went to watch the new minions movie at Teaneck cinemas, it’s always been like a childhood area for my family and the people around us. Today me and my brother got to experience a torturing 1 hour and 30 minutes of this movie. Everything in the beginning of this movie was going great! (Apart from the seat height being too tall which I couldn’t see part of the screen) Until one family walked in. A Mother, her daughter, and I’m assuming a friend of hers. They sat nearby us at the movie. Then, for the rest of the movie, this child was interrupting all 1 hour and 30 Minutes of it. I know that this is not the employees fault and therefore is why I’m not giving this place 1 star, but someone should be watching the place because everybody in that room heard that kid saying every last word that came up to this child’s mind. After this torture of an experience I decided it’s best if I leave this review. Parents, if you know your child will be reacting in certain ways during a movie. Please consider bringing the child or at least caring about the child. That kid in the theatre was companied by 2 guardians, which they both did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stop the child. Anyway overall, the seats were pretty comfy and relaxing. As well as the popcorn and drinks they had are great too. The prices were acceptable but would not pay 9$ too have that experience again. Would recommend to others if they don’t have lousy...
Read moreI’ve always enjoyed supporting this theater as i’ve been coming here for years, but tonight was really just the last straw for me. during the last 30 minutes of the movie, the audio cut out and the lights turned on. the movie continued to play with no audio, I asked the workers if they could do anything and they tried to do so but they told us the projector malfunctioned and they apologized. we were refunded and we laughed about it. But i’ve seriously looked past other concerns for the sake of going to a local theater. In Theater 1 the door has a slice through the blinds so light shines through and hits the screen, it’s quite distracting as there’s a pocket of light on screen for the whole movie. In Theater 3 the screen/wall is very noticeably damaged with the bumps and cracks. Also the projection doesn’t fit the actual screen so it looks sort of lob sided and uncentered. Theaters 2 and 4 are okay and I’ve had no problems with them. Sometimes they were dirty but people leave garbage all the time so I don’t blame the workers. Tonight was really just disappointing though, how would you feel if you watched an emotional gut punch of a movie for an hour and a half and didn’t get to know how it ends. If you’re looking to support another local theater i’d suggest just making the drive out to...
